Hello folks,

I saw and rode in this Chim yesterday. Everything in the ad checks out. It'll be my first TVR and I'm very close to buying it. Just wondering what the PH consensus would be

Looks good and very reasonably priced if the write-up holds up. The only issue I can see is the loss of silver on headlamp reflectors. Easily fixed though it can be an expensive fix

What does "outriggers done" mean? Were they replaced with a body lift etc? or were they just painted/wax-oiled to hide the rust... Assuming they are solid then it looks good from here.

Checking outriggers now

Could be TVR time!

Main car is a 350SL which is fine but just want a 'silly' car for hoons

check the chassis bits in the engine compartment as well, 97-99 cars have rubbish powercoat. Mine is a 97 and I did a full body lift last year at 59000 miles. Glad I did, lots of rust other places than the riggers.

Good call, take a mirror and check under the manifolds this area gets a beating with heat so the powder coat and metal underneath may have suffered. If it all checks out this is a bargain, it's what I paid for my 4.0l back in 2004 with similar miles,

All I can say is positive.

Mine was £10,000 with 67,000 miles on the clock in 2012.
Since when I paid £1800 for outrigger replacement, and am going to have to spend £4000 or thereabouts on a full respray any time soon.

So compared with a similarly priced car that needs both of those doing, this is a bargain.
Nice colour too - I prefer bright ones.

Give Fernies a call, if they've been looking after it as claimed they should be able to confirm it's history etc.

On the face of it, it looks to be a nice car at a reasonable price.

looks and sounds nice.... If you can and I'm not doubting its history but always worth getting someone to come with you and check the mechanics seeing as the chassis appears sorted.

Having said that finding faults and fixing them is half the fun...... right? hehe
