Optimate trickle chargers
Discussion
On the Murci I used a basic one bought off eBay that charged through the cigarette lighter, which was really easy.
Lasted for years.
Battery finally died recently.
Dave at Pangbourne told me not to go the cigarette lighter route, as the cable is thin and might overheat.
He sold me an AGM battery and I've now got a CTEK charger and will use the battery points.

Optimate and CTEK are only trickle chargers, so will not delivery much current, the cables they actually come with are quite thin btw.
isn't there a charging point in the Murci above and in front of the passenger rear wheel arch in the engine bay ?
Just thinking you have to remove the rear wheel to get to the battery normally don't you ?
That's how my Diablo works.

I just wanted something to keep the battery "topped up" whilst not being used, the tracker on the 550 kills the battery.
I am not sure about charging point on the Murci people have said you can jump it using the big fuse connector by the battery kill switch and the engine lifting hook / bracket.
I doubt I could jump it with my wife's 1.5l A class ....

I have one of these on both my Aston and Maserati and they are very effective and good value at £25.

Both are hard-wired to the battery so the conditioner can be plugged-in direct without using the clips and it's all very neat and convenient.
