New X1 - any deals around?
Discussion
My OH has decided that, having test driven one, she fancies an X1.
Due to her lack of mileage each year a petrol engined M sport or X line would be preferable.
Can anyone recommend any dealers who might be willing to do a reasonable deal on a new or even a low mileage pre-reg one?
We're near Reading but would travel a sensible distance if needed. Car would be outright purchase not PCP etc. as we keep cars for several years.
Thanks,
Steve

Unfortunately BMW won't let their dealers use Carwow.
Have found Coast2Coast; no idea if they're a decent outfit but they appear to be able to get discounted prices. Hopefully not from a dealer in, say, Aberdeen!
The way coast2coast work is very simple and very reliable.Have found Coast2Coast; no idea if they're a decent outfit but they appear to be able to get discounted prices. Hopefully not from a dealer in, say, Aberdeen!
Dealers from all manufacturers sign up to be a coast2coast dealer, they will pay a fee to be a recommended dealer.
You input your chosen spec and if you complete the web process your details are passed to a genuine dealer (in this case a BMW somewhere in the UK)
They are obliged to offer you the car with the spec you've chosen at the cost coast2coast quote, no arguments at all.
The dealer will of course try to up sell paint protection etc. as is their way, coast2coast charge you £300 for the privilege of using their service.
In my case I used the coast2coast quote to reduce my preferred dealers quote however I then had two dealers fighting for my car whilst I sat back and ultimately got a 22% discount on my new to be X5, happy days
To confirm I'm nothing to do with coast2coast, it is totally legit and works very well. You can either use the BMW dealer they suggest or you can of course use the quote to reduce your local BMW dealers quote, they will know of c2c!
Hope that helps.

Will definitely get a Coast2Coast quote then when I'm looking to order an X5 in a few months time and see what transpires.
Just paid a deposit on an X1 xDrive 20d xLine in Mineral White for the wife. Brand new with:
Driver comfort package
508 Park Distance Control (PDC), front and rear 544 Cruise control with brake function
563 Extended Interior Light Package
5DP Park Assist
Sport automatic transmission
Sport seats, front
Sliding rear seat bench
Headlining, Anthracite
Just over £5k off list. Unregistered car. Main dealer. Special deal from dealer principal as salesman messed up last week!
There were some pre-reg cars around with 0 miles for around £29k but that was last week!
By the way, forget the 19" wheels with run flats (standard on 19s) - AWFUL ride! The standard 18s with normal tyres (run flats £180 option on 18s) are much, much better. Try both.

Thanks for the info. No run flats on ours; had them on my last two 3 series and vowed never again. Added the space saver and jack as one of the options.
My OH took one look at the X line wheels and decided to go for the M Sport ones instead
I hated the xLine wheels (as above) and my OH loved them. Actually, they do suit the car very well and have grown on me considerably. All the others seem so "normal" in comparison. Or do I mean "boring"?My OH took one look at the X line wheels and decided to go for the M Sport ones instead
Picked it up today. Very pleased.
Glad you're enjoying yours, we haven't had a build/delivery date yet but Cooper's think it'll be here end of September or early October.
Fair enough on the wheels; being different is what makes us all interesting. MY OH's view was that they remind her of all the badly modified Novas and Astras round Luton when her dad worked for GM/Vauhall - think she was having a flashback to the TSW Venom!
