997.2 GT3 RS.....sensible buy at the moment?
Discussion
If you go by the GT4 thread, dealers just pretend to sell cars to move the market on, so people say !!!
I have no idea about the JZM car bar there have been no sales in the 997.2 RS for months and months on the net.
and there have been a few nice cars come and go and now back up again, so never sold.
997.2 RS market is a tuff one atm, one would have to be brave to part with £150k for one unless you really wanted one.
These can go either way imo come spring 2017 they might be all £200k again who can tell or who dare take a punt :-)

This was for sale a year ago at OPC Aberdeen. Nice looking car and at the time was priced relative to the market at about £140-150k but didn't sell after a few months. When it left the OPC it then popped up at this dealer down south shortly afterwards and has been for sale since. It still has just under 20k miles and the 991 steering wheel so its the same car I am sure. I am surprised its not sold in over a year but the moment its out of the showroom its over 20k miles and thats high for a market with so many minters with less than 10k miles for not 'a lot' more.
What do we think its worth? Never less than the cheapest 991 GT3 as this cant happen to a 997.2 GT3 RS but not as much as the asking today?

It 'should' be on for about 150k with that mileage. It might not even sell that that. Its not a great colour for an RS either. This was for sale a year ago at OPC Aberdeen. On the contrary imo it's the best colour for the 7.2RS.Take off the stickers and the rear wing and it is perfect - who needs an R ....

Now sold
Thats what I thought a year ago!The white/orange 7.2 RS at OPC Glasgow is known to me and quite a interesting spec as its got next to no extras but with ceramics making it potentially one of the lightest RHD 997.2 GT3 RS available/made? OPC Glasgow is pretty big but why its sat outside in the rain I have no idea as its probably the most expensive car they have....

For all the talk of low mileage cars, do high mileage cars ever come up? A couple of trips to Spa adds a few 000s kms every year, and I'd rather not be watching the clock. They can't deteriorate that much with mileage, can they?
I do not have a problem with higher mileage - i now live in Germany though where cars generally seem to be higher mileageCertainly would not pay a significant premium for say 20k km instead of 60k km. Possibly would pay one for say 80k instead of 130k, but ultimately would depend on condition to a large degree
And yes there are higher mileage cars for sale in Germany
Also watching the clock is pointless imo, buy the car to enjoy - i go out of my way to put more miles on my car as opposed to fewer
EDIT: I did just use the lower mileage on salty roads excuse (for myself) to buy a renault clio RS 200 to put next to the My other car. Realistically I will still Not drive the Clio on anything longer than a shopping trip though ....

That's interesting. You wonder about how hard it's life has been to have had a full engine and 'box rebuild. The front cage is also suggestive of a track centric existence. Could be a good buy and superbly maintained, but LHD, decent volume of miles, non-standard and used hard might also be driving the pricing. jimmyslr said:
