Best of both worlds , can't say fairer than that - amazing how two cars that are so similar / closely related can feel so different - both amazing cars. The 991 feels to me like a huge step forward from the 997.2 - amazingly planted , confidence inspiring and brutally quick. The 997.2 feels like it's from another time in comparison - much more than roughly half a decade ago , fascinating how Porsche have moved the envelope on in such a short space of time . Don't get me wrong the 997.2 is a truly fantastic bit of kit and its brilliant fun , just different that's all : raw , sexy and just a little bit scary : as you say if you have both you can't go wrong - you're a lucky man (In respect of RS ownership - obviously can't comment on the wider aspects of your life - LOL )Fl0pp3r said:
You'll notice the wink after my post..;) I doubt they'll get to 120k but JZM have reduced some of there GT3 RS' by about 10-15k so the market is slowing.
Could be a bargain to have, I'm ready to pounce! The GT4 wants a stablemate -
I'll buy yours off you for 130k Phil!

Been telling myself that, since I turned down two, both sub £90k ....about 4 years ago
There are (28) 997 GT3 RS' on PH for sale at the moment in the UK not including the 4 litres - (15) 997.2 and (13) 997.1There have never been so many for sale and they don't seem to be moving either. The Tom Hartley 997.1 car sold at 124k as it was a relative bargain at the current level.
You'll see them come down further yet i reckon given the slowing of the economy.
Its not a bad thing for those who have one as prices will go up again if held on to but will allow people to get in at relatively sensible money.
At the moment there is plenty of supply and not much demand.

People watch prices of such cars as they do the stock market. I wouldn't be looking to put money into a deflating asset.
I reckon you'll see them come down further and then when people perceive that they're at rock bottom or close to, everyone will be rushing to bag a bargain.
Or at least thats how it should work!

I think quite a few 997.2rs belong to people that don't really need to free up cash. Being a toy.
I am likely to pull mine off sale since for me, it ultimately will be worth more in time even if the market crashes. It's hard to find a pristine low owners car as time passes and the car truly represents the end of an era. The newer cars are faster but something has been lost. You gain some and you lose some.
Besides, how many of the newer rs cars are being made for a wider audience? Near 6k?

Agree, the easy money has already been made in the last 3 years. And the return on £175k will be far more modest, if at all taking all costs into account. Smart investors do not compare with 0.25% bank interest.
You'd have to be nuts to pay £175k for one when there seem to be cheaper ones out there and plenty of cars not movingGassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
