Finally took the plunge today after more than a year of looking and researching and trawling through the forum and 'umming and ahhing' - sold the Mitsubishi Evo X (will be greatly missed!), found a low mileage manual White 981 Cayman S with my almost 'perfect spec' last week, and put down a deposit for it this morning! Still grinning from the testdrive more than 12 hours ago!

Going to be a long long week waiting for collection day!

I've been watching that one for a while - looks a great car and not a bad price either. Enjoy!

Nice car that, A year of looking ! , it's been at JZM for 4 months at much less money !
Then sells in 1 week at 911v for more

Odd.

Great spec car though.

Congratulations - great looking car and with PCCB! So much better getting a "proper" six cylinder Cayman!

Thanks!

Was very close to keeping the Evo but reluctantly decided to let it go in the end. Brilliant cars for the price, everyone should drive one at some point! I'm sure your Evo VI Extreme must be fantastic (and quite rare with, what, 50 made in total?)

Yes glad I went for a 981 S - although the 718 may be good, I've been driving 4 cylinder turbo charged Japanese cars for the last 10 years (Evo IX, X and Impreza STi) so fancied a change and went for a 6 cylinder NA car instead!

Pretty sure it's not the same car. The one at JZM had the body coloured lower front apron option. Also it was there for quite a bit longer than 4 months.

Congrats on the purchase OP - great spec.

I agree they are unbeatable in terms of outright performance for the money, and mine is appreciating in price which makes it even nicer to own. biggrin 26 were built in total and 5 were converted by Ralliart to RS450's of which mine is one.

I see the car has side vents painted in body colour.
Tip: Wrap some black insulating tape around that white horizontal divider and it will disappear from view. smile

So finally picked it up this morning. Wow...just wow. What a car!

This is my first Porsche and I can already foresee that this is certainly not going to be the last!
