Common fault, usually sorts itself out on its own in time. Otherwise you could strip it down, not the easiest of tasks i'm afraid!

I would just leave it alone and it will probably just roll over when it feels ready!

if I strip it down what do I have to replace?

Theres nothing really "wrong" with it, just move it on a mile or 2 and it will return to normal operation, a dob of very light machine oil would not be a bad idea.

The only really difficult bit is splitting the speedo as they are crimped together at factory. Trying to un crimp them can result in damage to the bezel. It is possible as I do it an a reasonably regular basis, just be careful take your time with a couple of flat screwdrivers and a small pair of pliers. Although if left alone, I I would be very surprised if within 100 miles it has not returned to normal operation! And if it hasn't then strip it down and add the miles you have missed.

It will do it when you least expect it... mine got stuck at the same distance and I tried tapping it, rapping it, banging it... at ever faster speeds... all to no avail.
Next time I looked it was 40,008...

Now I consider myself to be a brave man

I would never yikes tempt the Winds of Fate by thumbing my nose at them in that way.

('Tis strange though. I saw that mine was 96Ksummat a few months ago and, after many trips out, just presumed that I'd "Done" the big 100K. Checked it again a few weeks ago and it was 97,781. Musta dome smaller trips than I thought scratchchin)

Mine did exactly the same @40k last year....and no it didn't sort itself out.

Colin at TVRSSW fixed it....he said its a common issue and if its left unsorted it can wear something out inside.
