Can anyone advise ?
My son borrowed the 997 and has reported after a 3hr motorway run, the car was steaming !
With what appears to be coolant leak - from phone pic received also wire hanging beside it

I am currently away ,and can only get pics at this time.
He said neither the oil or water temp were high
Any thoughts ?
What is the wire to the right ?

2005 997.1 c2s

Pic is upside down - sorry

Thanks

It looks to me like the hose on the bottom right is probably split.

I would go with water pump as already suggested. Don't overlook the fact that the temperature gauges are 'pegged' so as not to read actual temperature and will only show a high reading when the thing is overheating.

Hi just looking at the right side of the picture and it looks like part of the drivebelt has been shredded and is hanging down.

My waterpump exploded at 48000 miles. I drove very gingerly 2 miles to the garage before the coolant, 38litres of it, ran out. My oil temp gauge never budged. Repaired under warrantee, but I believe it was about £500.

Perhaps it has burst and damaged something next door. Any how, you're going to need someone to Jack it up. I wouldn't drive it until remedied, obviously.
