Just recently bought a 2007 VW Jetta, and was wondering if I am able to put a mk5 GTI front bumper straight on? Or is there tinkering required?

I read somewhere that I am able to just buy the grille and put it on with the original bumper, but not really sure.

Been a mk4 man for a few years so it'll take a bit of catching up to do regarding mk5s lol

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Straight fit.
You'll need the GTI foglight grills.
The other grills fit.

Gti and gt bumper are the same aside from grills.jetta bumper is the same as the gt and gti except for the fog light grills are different.

Thank you very much, do you know of anywhere that I can buy the honeycomb fog light trim etc or is it a case of keeping an eye on eBay?

Gti grills with jetta fog lights look terrible.
Get an actual gt or gti bumper.

Easy to swap. smile

So I can across a small problem, the fog light grills on the mk5 GTI bumper are a slightly different shape then that of my current bumper (pic below) .. Think I will have to trim some off the top of the fog light grill so make it fit properly.

The chrome strip above the fog light grill needs to come off to get the GTI one on, and that leaves silly gaps where the chrome used to be..

I guess il do some measuring and some cutting and see how it goes I guess, will keep you guys updated..

The main grille and lower grille fits fine, just going to have difficulty with the fog lights lol

Wel I do like a challenge lol,

The thing putting me off getting a bumper is the cost of spraying etc

But if I'm beat il just buy a new bumper lol

Hey guys,

Has anyone fitted the R-Line fog grilles on the EU Jetta bumper (the one with chrome trims like the one above)? They kind of look the same as design but i do not know if they are 100% compatible.

thanks
