16" x 9" Rear wheels?

Hi all.

I have been thinking about fitting some retro "BBS" style wheels to my Chimaera and seem to be going round in circles even though I have had some excellent advice from all of you.

As I do not want ultra low profile tyres I am now coming to the conclusion that retaining the current tyre sizes of 245/45x16 and 225/45x16 (as opposed to 225/50x15) is probably the best option.

I can get 7.5x16 wheels et25 for the front but ideally the rears should be wider for the tyres. Has anyone ever fitted 9"x16" wheels to the rear? I know a 9x17 will fit but obviously on a 16"rim the inner edges are about 20mm closer than standard to all the suspension parts.

Just a thought.....

Mine is on the ramp at the mo with 8x17" wheels.

I will have a gander this afternoon and judge an inch reduction in the diameter and see if there is any interference.
