new exhaust manifolds changes

Had the dreaded tick getting progressively louder so bought some gaskets only to find the manifolds were both cracked in the centre of the 4 pipe junction!Phone call to ACT new manifolds fitted very shiney.....Before the change the car was a bit shunty with slightly rough tickover even though had carbon inlet tubes, thermal gasket and performance chip.It now has none of those problems,pulls away like silk smooth tickover picks up better and generally feels like a different car.So started to wonder why,on examining old manifolds found a numberof tiny leaks on the gaskets and pinholes at various places on the mamifold.It seems that not having precats or exhaust leaks makes a huge difference to running .
