How easy is it to retro fit the paddle shift steering wheel to a Gen 2 997 PDK 2009 3.8 S does it need coding the car?

I think that the last time I saw this question, the answer was around £750 for a dealer to do the job, all included.
If I'm wrong, I hope someone will jump, in. Call a friendly dealer/indie yourself?

When I had it done to my Cayman S in 2013 it cost £925 in total.

Yes, it needs to be coded. My independent did it so you're not necessarily stuck with an OPC.

no coding req'd in most cases, exception being if it had a heated steering wheel before

No coding required for basic function but....

There are however two types of wheel model. One has the Sport, Sports+ and Launch control lights/words on the wheel. This is for 2010+ Gen 2. The other is a wheel without these lights to fit the 2009 model only.

Apparently you can fit the 2010+ (with lights) onto the 2009 car, as I have done. Apparently in the PWIS system Porsche can activate the lights to work. I fitted the wheel myself, so will ask Porsche to try do this at the next service.
