I liked my 987 Cayman S.

I LOVE my 981 Cayman S.

Mrs Bennachie has back issues and we are both ........ ageing as a result getting out is a difficult proposition.

So, AMG C63 is calling. Any one done or contemplating such a swap. I realise dynamics are an issue..... but the sound..

We also currently run two cars to cover all bases, one might just cut it.

We tried Macan and whilst getting in was ok, without help she would still be there..............

What's wrong with a 991? That's meant for creaky old people, after all.

I have ordered new 718 Cayman, am 66 with dodgy hip, other half 72.........No pain without gain, I'm sure the pleasure will negate any getting in/out issues........;)

Get the soft-top Cayman ( wink ), much easier getting in and out with no roof in the way.

I found the head first technique worked on my Cayman and I'm so used to that now I use it for all cars which probably looks faintly ridiculous on a tall 4x4.

On the new Boxster ordered 14 way electric seats with the main benefit being they automatically slide fully back for entry and exit. Every little helps.

thx for comments, have ordered 18way elec seats, on demo car no probs getting out, used the window & s/wheel for leverage to stand up on exit.......

18 way seats will certainly help (14 way might be better for access). The real issues with the Cayman arise when you can't open the doors fully - which, depending on the way you use the car, might be pretty often. Let's put it this way I personally find a Caterham (roof off) often easier to get in and out of. So Sparkyhd's suggestion of a Boxster with 14 way seats might be the way to go if the OP runs out of perseverance.

If you want a proper old school visceral experience. Proper V8 burble and will blow a C63 AMG into the weeds. Buy a Challenger or Charger Hellcat. Bloody awesome piece of kit. Before anyone says they don't stop or handle. They run three way adjustable Bilstein dampers and big 6 pot Brembo brakes. Just done a terminal velocity day today and the car truly continues to amaze me. 29mpg on the way back from Spa last week. A truly compliant ride. Bloody fast piece of kit. Waiting for the results but I do not believe there is one stock car out there quicker than the Cat. Save for Bugs, Koni's and the big money stuff. £70K brand new

Loved my 987 Spyder

Liked my 981 Spyder

Bored by my C63!

Bought it for similar reasons as you, but now looking at another Boxster, make of that what you will!

the 987/2 Boxster Spyder is a true classic, a car to buy now before they become too expensive
