Service Light is on? - fair enough if its just a service, or could it possibly be Engine light?

Heard horror stories (on here) about early 997s and engine grief.

Avoid like the plague?

Cheers!

Cheap. Probably engine light, get it borescoped and fully inspected to ascertain the full cost. I'm betting it's being sold because the owner might have an inkling something is on the way out? But, then he might just need the money for a conservatory. Or something.

Could be genuine but something not right if he's selling with the car needing a service?
Most decent people would prepare the car properly for sale. I'd walk away and find an enthusiast owner, he / she is not by the sounds of it.

I like the bit about pre owner having 4 wheel alignment doing. That was nearly 2 years and 8k miles ago! Funny...
