Macan GTS or Turbo

Right to set a few key things.
Appearance - the turbo has different styling to the rest of the range most notably the front bumper and LED side lights. The GTS is basically the same externally as the other models but with the sports design kit (excluding mirrors) added. the GTS also offers the spyders (alloys) in black.
Internally - the GTS offers the GTS interior package, with contrast stitching and part suede seats.
Driving - The turbo as you say is more powerful, however it has a less focused suspension setup. The GTS has the brakes from the turbo so these are identical.
HOWEVER, you can now get the turbo performance pack. This adds the suspension setup of the GTS, 40bhp more power over the turbo and upgraded brakes.
With this pack you can also add the GTS interior but only as a pack at a cost of circa £4.5k, which includes some carbon interior parts.
This car is effectively as driver focused as the GTS but with materially more power, a lot of people feels this has made the base turbo obsolete now.

Good advice from Langlord and exactly as I understand it as well.
Might be a bit difficult to pin cars down, but I would get yourself a drive in a GTS and/or Turbo before you push the button. Don't get me wrong, they are lovely cars but they are not a sports car so I recommend a drive in one first if thinking of chopping in a 911/cayman. We have a GTS and have a Turbo PP on order, but I still have a 911GTS as my general car when there's only one or two of us travelling.
I really like the Macan GTS and enjoy driving it, but if I could only keep one car and I didn't have a requirement for space/seats it would be the 911 on the driveway and not a Macan.
Fuel consumption on the Macan is also pretty shocking. Average is about 22mpg (26 on a run). Last weekend I was blasting around for an hour (manual shifting and sport/sport plus mode) and I used half a tank of petrol (75ltr tank) and averaged 11mpg.
Trying to pin the dealer down for a build date on the Turbo PP, so there may be a very well spec'd carmine GTS for sale soon.

I also have a Turbo PP on order (Dec build) which I do think will be the pick of the range now . Problem is there doesn't seem to be many cars being allocated at the moment . So even if you wanted one you can't just rock up and order one . My dealer currently only has 1 I believe . Why you can't just spec up a base turbo to include PP confuses me to be honest . I'm not quite sure why it's so limited ( currently.... )

Macan GTS was ver limited as well to start but now it appears you can have one before the end of the year which will do wonders for resale. Give Porsche a couple of months to get the first PP's off the production line and they'll probably do the same with this as well.
Suspect your right ..... It's the Porsche way , but still can't get my head around where the old turbo now fits ? Maybe it's being kept as quieter / more comfortable model . There will be a Turbo S released anyway just as the PP's start to get delivered :-)

It's a comfy car and munches up the miles really well. GTS is more sporty but not harsh and we keep ours is in sports suspension mode all the time. The sports seats do have a large bolster so again maybe try getting in and out to make sure it doesn't aggravate your back. I would ask the OPC if they will upgrade you to a Turbo PP (as long as it's not my slot!!) I think this will hold value better over the standard Turbo atm.
shiverman - has it definitely been confirmed that the December slots have been there. I was offered one as well when I got the GTS but having been on the phone with my OPC, there seems to be a little bit of uncertainty now over the build slot dates.

Got a Turbo for my wife. It has an excellent blend of handling and ride comfort. So it's a great car for long distances and it is fun to drive. A sports car, however, it isn't GTS suspension or not. Hence for the purpose we are using the car, a GTS would have been an unneccessary compromise

Went from an S to a GTS via spec creep, but stopped before Turbo. Quite glad, as would have just missed the PP. there's always next time!

It is £32252 on the normal Turbo. I wonder if it will be £5000 higher with the PP?

My Cayenne GTS has been in for some work so have been driving loaners. The first was a Macan GTS. The sound is good but initially I was disappointed with the drive because I could fell it wasn't NA. In fact, I went back to pick my car up and said I was underwhelmed. Fortunately, my car wasn't ready so they sent me back out in the GTS. This time I drove it. On the way home there was a 911 turbo and we decided to play. His car was faster in every way but I bet the GTS was more fun! I fell in love with it.
I'm now in a base spec macan which is an excellent car but isn't the event that the GTS is. I'm a believer that GTS should be NA but the Macan shows how a turbo can still be "pure".
I nee the space of the cayenne for now but would replace with the Macan as it was more fun than the cayenne

Does anyone else find it a bit odd that the Macan Turbo does not come fitted with drilled discs, even if they aren't necessary - I just associate this with the overall look of the top sports model. Just as it goes with the BMW M cars. A neighbour recently got one and I was surprised at the brakes plus how exposed the radiators are - looks like a visit to JZM would be helpful to fit some mesh (even if it doesn't look quite so dramatic).

Has anyone took delivery of a Macan Turbo Performance Package yet. Mines at port awaiting a boat . Surprised not to have seen any reviews or cars yet . Looking forward to it for over the winter . My dealer have only been allocated 2 cars .... compared to the 8 or 9 GT4's they got. Very surprised at low build numbers .
