I have used Shiply in the past. Reasonable prices but you have to be very flexible with timings.

Do you not know anyone that you could perhaps add on to the insurance to drive them up there for you then jump back on a cheap train/plane ticket?

Try this site - https://www.deliveryquotecompare.com/vehicle-deliv...

You choose from the quotes, and each provider lists their insurance details etc. I used this site a few months ago to move a car and it was great, requested a quote on Saturday, accepted Saturday night, car collected and delivered Sunday.

When do you need this done?

I can quite possibly do this for you.

I had a look at this recently but gave up as had insurance worries - particularly through the ' we take no responsibility' sketchy internet portals. Plus we'd have to walk up ourselves as they didnt want 'people'. The idea was to save utterly dull motorway devaluing mileage at17mpg but it just didn't pan out.

For £500 each up and down its a bit of a no brainer - good luck - sorry cant help.

So far the score is two broken legs, one slipped disc and a death in the family. What was it Harry Callahan used to ask about feeling lucky? wink

My OH's dad would use Falkirk Car Carriers; http://www.falkirkcarcarriers.co.uk. IIRC they do a daily or every other day run down south with a full size transporter. If the cars don't need to be under cover then they might be worth a try.
