Loving the comments...especially the 'pissed yourself' one. I do like quietly putting the seats on and watching the quizzical then worried look of your unsuspecting passenger...
I've had them on most of my decent cars, and it's one of the options that I consider pretty important. The 996 turbo ones are rubbish though - even the 964 was better (same as the Cayenne with a dial, rather than just Off / On / On hot).
I brought a used 997 Gen2 Turbo S no heated seats or sunroof and I don't miss them at all, I never bought the car to have a hot bum or listen to wind noise !
