I thought the previous GP was supposed to have completed prior to starting the next GP hehe. Good work though.

I thought it was odd but the spreadsheet said October 21st, so I'm just following orders smile

Not sure about the idea of having two active GP threads going.. likely to lead to some confusion and cross posting at some point.

Could be an interesting race, especially after what happened in Texas...

We can let this one fall away for now (I appreciate I'm not helping by replying!)

Are you serious? In what way could it be confusing?

In any case there are often two active threads for different GPs, I can't see what difference pre or post race makes.

So... not had a chance to look at the news yet, how has FP1 gone? Who's ahead Nico or Hammy?

Ball is firmly in Rosberg's court now, a retirement from Lewis could see ROS walking away from Mexico as champion.

I would at least like to see it go to the wire, it's been a dull season but a few fireworks at the end might reignite a bit of interest leading into what could be a fascinating 2017.

Rosberg can race as hard as he likes with Lewis now. There's always the risk of him taking himself out and leaving Lewis running, but if he takes just Lewis out or both of them out he's champion. I'm not saying he'll do anything deliberate, but he's got less to lose in wheel to wheel racing than Lewis. Senna and Prost all over again.

I think we could really do with Nico having a DNF and a Lewis win to really close it up for the final two races.

I think Rosberg will clinch it this year. Unless something really drastic happens.

We would be in for a cracking two races if two of Lewis's malaysia incident didnt happen.

The pressure is really on both of them now. There is no way Nico is going into this weekend looking at second place. He will want to keep the gap above 25 points so a DNF in the final two rounds isn't a disaster. Yes, he might let Lewis go if he genuinely hasn't got the pace on Sunday, but if they are close, it will be a battle.... And lets hope it is.

Same for Lewis, he has to close the points gap but not by taking desperate, high risk measures. If he can come out of this weekend with a less than 25 point gap, he'll be very happy.

I think we've been a bit guilty of assuming the title is over, one mechanical issue, or an unlucky contact, or a puncture, really could swing this either way yet. Its all up for grabs, how exciting.

I've said for a while now, one Nico DNF and it is wide open. Of course, if Lewis has more bad luck, well....

Probably the worst race of the season coming up for McLaren. I'd be delighted if they can make Q3.

So, Rosberg can afford to come second in two of the remaining races and third once, with Hamilton winning all. This race is most likely to be an easier Mercedes 1-2 than the other two...Possible that he could do worser than 3rd place in Brazil but Hamilton had never gone well there in the past. If Hamilton wins this one and Brazil, Rosberg will be under pressure to win in Abu Dhabi as Merc should be strong there...that would be very exciting. Of course, he'd make a big step if he can win here.

I do hope the WCC isn't wrapped up this weekend, it's been a dull and unlucky season. It would be nice to have a proper ending to it.
