These guys have just opened up shop it seems.

The products look nice, but the prices are a bit steep!

Are those prices as they seem, e.g. £115 for ONE rear light box or would that be 1 pair? £230 for a pair would seem ludicrous. If it is per pair I make it £360 for a full set of rear lights, fog/reverse and number plate.
Sadly I think they are as we have all asumed the price per each individual item, so yes two easy required for a pair!I did say they were pricy!

Presumably the first thing they'll have to do is change the company name when the letter from Caterham's lawyers arrives!
Hmm good question - not sure about that given that Caterham is obviously a placename and you can't copyright those. (As far as I know anyway) Otherwise Caterham(Cars) would be thinking about suing anything/business with 'Caterham' in the name?I wonder though.....

Just seen the guy who is running this post on blatchat.I did say they were pricy!
Actually those prices are for a pair, so not as bad as we first thought!

Fair enough, not too bad then. As a comparison a pair of front indicator pods is about the same a CC charge.
Reviewing Dan French's blog the whole lot would give a weight saving of maybe 500g. Worth it?

Of course to save a few kilos then we could all go in a diet, I know I should!

It 's not about copyright but trademarks - and like any manufacturer Caterham has its name(and Seven etc) as aI wonder though.....
registered trademark . Re place names, the fact there is a Scots village called Ford wouldn't stop the Blue Oval stamping on any cars produced with that name...

Yes indeed, wrap just the parts. You'd have to be super keen or have a good bit of cash to consider the real deal but I could get behind a few quid on vinyl and a few hours with a hair dryer to achieve the same result.
Or try wickedcoatings.co.uk, though I'm not sure if the rubber light blocks could be done, or what the cost would be.
I don't know, there's nothing like the real thing, is there? I just wish someone could make carbon versions of some heavy things to give real weight savings!!
£600 + per kg is expensive whichever way you look at it, but par for the course it seems.
