For any fans of less well know aircraft, there is a movie out on Netflix called 'The Siege of Jadotville' about the Katanga mercs vs UN war that has some good Fouga Magister scenes.

Ironic to see the V-tailed machine strafe Irish troops...

on the downside, there is a spurious appearance by an F4 Phantom, when it should probably have been another Fouga but still

At least the Irish soldiers would have been fairly familiar with the type.

I don't think sending six Magisters would have helped much.

By all accounts the mercenary air force that operated in support of the rebels only had one!

Actually, is this film about the UN operations in the early 1960s?

Yes.

And here is the Fouga!

With a DC-3 for added 'Dogs of War' authenticity.

Ah - the Irish wouldn't have been that familiar with Magisters back then. The Irish Air Corps didn't receive their Magisters until 1976/77. In 1962 they were still flying Vampire T55s.
