Am i mad for considering it. It has full specialist service history and is unmodified. Im not usually bothered about mileage but this is way higher than what i have gone for before..

As long as it's been looked after well, there's no reason to worry.

I'm on my second Impreza, to find one un-modified is quite a bonus.

Cheers. Might go and take a look at it. My beloved mk1 mx5 is having to make way for something more practical.

Nothing wrong with a high mileage car however look through the recent history. At that number expect to be replacing suspension components to get it to drive how it should. Also pipes etc may have deteriorated as well. My friend has a 212K 04 Impreza wrx and it's all good.

Dread to think how much that cost in petrol! I had a 00 Impreza Turbo and I seem to remember it wouldn't even reach 30 MPG on a run.

Not all his miles! It had 2 engine rebuilds, cause of the problem was tracked to a poor fuel pump apparently. Had an uprated one and never had a problem since. Think he got it on 205kish. Looks in really good nick for it's miles!

It looks in really good nick and it only works out to 13000 ish miles a year. I have always wanted one since i drove one on a driving day but could never get insured for a realistic amount (I'm now 27) so really am tempted!

If it's really cheap go for it however if you can get one with half the miles for a few hundred pounds more that would be the better option.

I've had a couple of high mileage Subarus (140k mile Forester XT and 120k mile impreza turbo) my honest recommendation is, unless it has a lot of recepts, dont. Subaru drivetrains are pretty fragile and in my experience really do not age well and due to the complexity of there designs are rather expensive to repair when theyve gone wrong.

If you have your heart set on a skooby its one of the few cars id say buy older with lower mileage rather than newer on starship miles.

can't comment on the high mileage aspect but back in 2005 I think, I had a 2004 wrx. now it was a very rare model- had a factory sunroof, plus full black leather- in pearl/shiny black.

mine was absolutely stock, un chavved up and mint. bought from subaru and with full history from subaru.

what an utter nightmare to sell on though. I can't imagine there is too much of a market still for these and I think you could shop around a lot, equally argue about price.

road tax is expensive. servicing dearer than normal. tyres get munched up. petrol use is depressing.

insurance- well for me it was £400 (and I have a Bradford postcode) but I understand everyone's circumstances are different. even I think £400 is too much !

although a truly wonderful car that I do wish I'd never sold and tucked away in a garage smile

so factor in if you buy it, you are not necessarily buying something with much of a buyers market.

I MoT'd my 2002 WRX on Wednesday. 167k miles. PPP from new. Original Turbo, original exhaust. original CATs, original clutch. Nothing ever replaced other than consumables. Had an advisory for a corroded brake backing plate....

Agree with above, although mine needed a new clutch at about 130k miles. All original bar a replacement fuel rail under warranty. If they are looked after then they can go on and on. Just don't think about the petrol 😂

Mine is a 2001 on 168k

I had a new one in 2002, it appeared to be made of cardboard - clutch and driveshafts replaced under warranty, ate tyres at a terrifying rate and did 19MPG on super unleaded. Sounds dire, but was a super drive.

It is still on the road though, so has lasted longer than I expectedsmile I do get tempted by the classifieds when I see them...

I'd suggest that's more a reflection of your driving rather than the car wink
