You guys are a bad influence.

I have placed a deposit on the Ashgoods 997.2 GT3 Clubsport. It was too good a price to resist, and I've been watching for literally years.

I think an original sale fell through, as it was de-listed and then came up as POA, but it was for sale at the same price.
Great car :-)

There's two ways of looking at the current market, in general;

  1. Buying now is like catching a falling knife - where do values go to from here?
  2. Conversely, if what you always wanted is now within reach, go for it, buy a keeper!

Nice one, congratulations. If you are interested in a second set of wheels (currently gloss black with TPMS )and all the gear for swapping them over e.g. easy off adaptor, torque wrench etc. at stupid deal prices, send me a message.

Ashgoods have another gem: https://www.ashgood.co.uk/vehicle-details/Used-Por...

Under £90k for a 996.2 GT3 RS. Okay, it's over 70k miles, but still, lovely car.

My view is the 997 GT3 will always be an 'important' Porsche.

Secondly, I am not very sensible with money when it comes to cars.

Thirdly, during the 2008 recession, new car sales went down, used car values went up.

Fourthly, unless I have to sell it to release funds, I don't plan to ever sell it!

Man maths completed.

Dunno, for another thread but... French GDP for 2020 q1 down more than 5% and worse than drop in 1949. There is no way q2 will not be worse.

UK may be doing better, but it's all relative.

If you have bought it to drive it and keep it, there is not really a 'lose' position. Forced sale excepted.

temp dips, and while we will not recover to pre covid levels in a week !!!! , Growth looks good for 2021.

no point posting Q2 figure, every things shut ! post Q4 ones in 8 months.

media love to post these "record losses " they make the figures work in a time scale when things are closed !!! it's a given it's record losses this month VS the same time last year !! Its not worth the paper it's written on.

90% of the house sales on hold will go though in June, that's 82Billion £££, now they could say record figures in house sales, but it all evens out in the end.

Great choice thumbup Enjoy your new car. It's a fantastic machine. I love the 7.2 GT3 - to the extent that I use mine as a daily

I have to admit there is something great about the 997 gt3
I have had mine for 8 years which is the longest I've had a car.

Perfect balance od an older car with plenty of driver engagement.

Any 997, Gen 1 or 2, GT3 or RS is a great, great car. I include the much maligned cars with comfort seats in that too, because if you never go on track and either use the car for long road trips or even as a daily, I can quite see the carbon buckets becoming a little tiresome. There's not a lemon in there.

Subtle differences there may be, but the overall package is very similar and they will never make cars like these again. Ever.

Can't wait to get out there and make some more memories...

Seems Ashgood Porsche are the only ones selling used Porsche GT stock, I guess thats due to them realising listing cars for crazy money like other independents do doesn’t pay the bills anymore.

I have them down as selling 3 GT cars this week, it can only be down to the fact they realise they were well over priced pre covid 19 and they needed to come down, they are also open to have a deal on the sticker price which many other independents aren’t.

We are also seeing a number independents Marking cars as sold when they are not only to reappear at another independent at a different price, sometimes more!

Crazy times, only the strong businesses will last, now is not the time to put your head in the sand and think this will blow over.

Be great to know if the buyer of the nice 977.2 Gt3 cs managed to chip on the sticker price of 89k once it’s safely in the garage.

I do remember 911r saying sometime ago sensible milage 997.2 Gt3 cs need to be priced at 85k to sell, looks like he might of been correct!
