Ok, I'm a sucker for 2 strokes, and Suzuki GTs in particular, so this last week I bought 2 more to go with the GT550 I have. A gt185 and a GT250.

The 185 is on the road, mot'd etc. and just needs a tidy up (in progress already). Lots of bits on order, new seat, indicators, headlamp ears, etc. etc.

The 250 needs a little more work, but the motor is freshly rebuilt, and awaiting 2 small parts, to go with the cosmetic bits I've bought to tidy it up. Loving the challenge.

Nice, I had a GT 250 ram air in silver back in the early 1980's

Well, as there was (is) nothing to do on the 185, I have been cracking on with the 250. Both Condensors shot, so replace them, along with the points to get my sparks back. New flexi inlet rubbers, that are still a pig to get on properly, and a few other essential bits, air filter, cables all round etc.

Fast forward to yesterday, and put the new battery on, made up some 20 to 1 in my temp fuel tank, and decided to give it a prod. After about 8 kicks, away it went, so oil pump wound flat out, and purge the lines, lots of smoke but running really sweetly, as I'd expect, as the engine hasn't been run since it was rebuilt. Stopped it and noticed fuel coming off the bottom of both carbs, so took them off, cleaned them out, and put them back on. Still dripping, but not from the overflow, just dripping.

2 x Carb refurb kits in the post so strip, clean, rebuild TEST and replace tomorrow.
