Friend has an A7 and I've noticed when manoeuvring at low speed, (such as a 90° turn into a driveway) there's a very pronounced rumbling. A bit of googling suggested it may be down to the Quattro system, but the comments found related to other models. It doesn't happen at anything above walking pace and only when turning sharply. Is it something to get concerned about, or is it in fact one of those 'they all do that' things.
It's been like that since he got it and all the tyres are evenly worn. (It's got less than 10k on it)

Could be the front tyres scrubbing (Ackerman effect) which is more pronounced during the cold weather.

Itts very noticeable even from the passenger seat. Never experienced anything like it in other 4wd cars. As long as it's not a big bill looming outside of warranty.

I think you'll find its normal, combination of tyre scrub and quattro, my S4 does it when maneuvering slowly on full lock.

Likewise.

It would worry me otherwise but I hear (well, read on here anyway) that it is normal.

lol. TBH, the R8 is no worse than my Cayman used to be and certainly not as bad as an Esprit I had years ago. First world problem. wink

My S5 did this, seems to just be a Quattro thing. Made me a bit worried the first time I noticed it though!

Most of them do it. I've had two S6's and my current A8 all do it.

Depends on how old your R8 is. the first ones were horrendous (Early version of Haldex for the front diff) Current ones have Haldex 5 front diff, so its all nice and lovely smile
