Bit sneaky of Audi to have put metallic paint as a compulsory option on the s-line, therefore putting past the £40k tax bracket and making it liable for an extra £310PA for the first 5 years. That being said, they don't want a load of bog standard cars running around, sans options.

Have spec'd up a car and been offered a good discount, but can't seem to get excited enough to press the button. Feel like waiting for the new SQ5, but that will be well into 2018.

Anyone tempted?

SQ5 will be available end of 2017 apparently.

So hold your horses and wait for the horses.....

Subscribed to a couple of Tiguan forums as my missus got one last year. It's quite noticeable that a number of people who have recently ordered the latest Tiguan waited for the new Q5 then said it's just too expensive, especially against spec for spec against the higher grade Tiguans.

This is a bit annoying, as we think the new Tiguan is too expensive - but to a Q5 buyer it looks like a bargain!

15%+ off on the tiguan now. The new Q5 is a nice car but a decent spec is around £50K for a 190hp diesel. Maybe there are decent discounts but too high in my opinion.

The Tiguan is on a different chassis to the Q5 and the interior finish isn't up to Audi's standard, but you're right. I could spec up an R Line, 4Motion 190 with nearly all of the options ticked for £35k discounted whereas the Q5 would be closer to £6k more discounted for only half of them.

I think Audi are chancing their arm given the success of the previous generation Q5, time will tell.

Im not suggesting the Tiguan is as good or the same class. It is mighty good though. I am suggesting too that the Q5 is very expensive for what it is. Not knit picking but a fully optioned RLine 190 would be closer to £38k which is a lot for a smallish car albeit a good one.
