My Connected Drive Subscription has expired. The only service I'll miss is RTTI. I use it all the time so would renew my subscription just to continue this service. But it's not worth renewing until I need to and am unsure whether the service has actually stopped?

The coloured lines still show on the map and the info box still says RTTI, not TMC.

Does this mean I'm still receiving RTTI data or does the RTTI symbol merely mean that RTTI info would be available IF I were still subscribed to Connected Drive but I'm actually seeing TMC data?

Hope that makes sense :-)

If it says RTTI you are still getting RTTI.

That other site informed me of the connected-drive website which shows all services as "booked" despite receiving an email weeks ago informing me that the service had expired.

Guess you get a grace period. Thanks guys.

Hi Troy.

I have the same. My online account now shows expired yet RTTI is still showing "active" in my car. Does yours now show expired online?
Did you find out any more info if RTTI is confirmed as working if RTTI shows on the navigation screen. Guys here seem to believe so...

If it says RTTI you're still receiving it - if not it will revert back to TMC.

The criteria set by BMW (according to the Connected Drive team) is it will be active for 3 years from the car's BUILD date (NOT registration) + 90 days (the 90 days being a grace period by which any stock cars will be expected to be sold).

I know this from experience when my E93 expired 2.5 years after the car was registered...

Apparently there is an "internal" problem with BMW RTTI at the moment. If you are a twitter user there's quite a few comments to BMW UK about it. For example "Hi, we appreciate your patience. Our technicians are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Thanks"

No news on when it will be back up and running, however depending on how long it is down it might be worth asking BMW for an extension to your RTTI contract to match the time it has been out of service.

My 2013 (build date Dec 2012) 328i has just recently changed to TMC from RTTI.

Seems like it was for 5 years on earlier F31s.

Hi, OP here. I can confirm a 90 day grace period as I just recently lost RTTI 3 months after making my post. You can renew (once only) for £1 for 1 month. After that I'll renew for the year as my commute this week has been severely hampered by jams I could have avoided.
