Couldn't agree more, but whats the real alternatives...

AM GT8 - £295K+
AM V12S - not really the track car the GT Porsche are
911r - £600k+
991.2 GT3 - Probably £180k when the first few are flipped
997.2 GT3 - £120k+ and 7 years old
F430 - £120k+, 10 years old and also not a really a trackable car
Gallardo - £80k+, 13 years old and also not really a trackable car
GT4 - Bargain at £90k.

Agree. For a proper focused track car you don't get much better than this. Probably not the most charismatic engine but a car you can work hard on track without breaking your wallet.

I did answer some pages back in a bit more detail. I've had an exige for 7 years, and they are no comparison to a GT porsche. Hilariously the Evora 400 and exige 380 are both too loud for track days

Microphones are on left middle start straight and near starkeys on left I think. It's normally the straight one that goes as the sound reverberates.

Bloody stupid when you have to stop a conversation for a jet taking off but a road legal car is too loud!

you can get a track exhaust for these if you want, so track days won't be a problem.

Just been told it's a no for me,but if they get any more allocations and they do not expect more than another 2 next year then I definitely get one.

Still a few other issues to sort for track…

Weight distribution
Understeer after a geo.
Brakes
Irregular throttle mapping
Engine management system doesn’t allow heal and toe
Gearbox not up to track work (heat)
Ridiculous gear change (long and spongey)
Weak engine mounts.
Lack of exhaust packaging / noisy exhaust
Complete Lack of oil cooling.
Oil sump not baffled.
Stupidly small fuel tank
Not baffled fuel tank.
Stupidly heavy steering
Paint issues
Suspension bushes made of cheese / falling out.
Ball joints made of cheese
Ohlins TTX need fitting if serious about track work

This isn’t even going into detail about lethargic (blown) 3.5 v6 from a toyota and the famous Lotus build quality.

Having had a S2 for 7 years, the V6 Exige (with the same cockpit) isn't a car Id want to be jumping in and out of daily.

I am contemplating it...don't particularly want to void the warranty, but considering the bolt on options.

Took the GT3 (991) out of storage after the winter months
Drive the 100 miles up to a meeting in Cambridge
Off the motorway I pressed sport and for 30 miles it didn't go above 5th
And I'm thinking ....
The new GT3 has no sport button
What in hell is it going to be like !!
Which sport button?
The 991.1 GT3 has a PDK Sport button - which the 991.2 GT3 also has.
So that's a mystery.

In Sport it auto rev matches I.e. Does it for you.

Think it's the skill of the driver without sport though. That's what it's like in the R too I believe.

Oh ok, I don't actually use idk plus in mine. Just use it in normal, or in manual mode. Perhaps I should use it more often.
