Anyway , where were we? Nice initial report in Car magazine. They describe it as being a little softer though I would guess that would be for normal driving. Push the suspension button and all is restored.

For road driving that could be spot on... anyway still waiting to hear on allocations..

AP talked about the suspension in "normal" being softer in the Catchpole vid I think...something they'd brought from the R and that they'd found a lot of GT3 owners used the cars on the road. Hit the Sport button and you have your track set up.

Sounds pretty good to me!

Another clue regarding manuals... seems confirmed Sept onwards only, and also limited in numbers...!

As an aside, I have a counter-signed Vehicle Order Agreement with my OPC for a manual here in Cape Town, but no confirmed build slot or anything... so for now in the dark...

I am assuming that everyone who was going to get a car in the first round of allocations had now got the good news. For those of us in with a chance of getting a later car does anyone have a feel for when OPC's will get the next round of allocations ? When I was invited to put a deposit down I was told I should know for sure in the next couple of months. Is that consistent with what others have heard ?

Just trying to manage my paranoia !
Some dealers haven't had their allocations yet for sure...

Really ? I find that quite amazing. But maybe I shouldn't!

My order is in and signed with East London, i believe I was no.3 on their list but I didn't undergo any 'vetting' of any kind. I do have a buying history with them after purchasing a GT4 which probably helped.

I've asked for manual even though my order is currently PDK. They said only 30% of the overall allocation will be manual apparently, so will need to wait and see if i am one of the lucky few.

+1 I'd say all orders are in now?

"Limited Availability" footnote has now appeared on the Porsche GB website alongside the GT3 details as it did previously for the GT4 and GT3RS. IMO this is a sure sign that the model is effectively sold out.

Kind of depends what you mean by order ! I don't think all orders are in because dealers won't have allocations for the entire production run. I do think dealers know who is or might be getting a car though...I am just surprised that some dealers apparently don't have their allocations yet. My guess is that none know their entire allocation but I assumed they all knew initial allocations in the first batch of cars.

Sorry I think I was one of the last to be told, so I was informed by a third party smile

More to come on the next run though

Allegiance to one OPC alway potentially a problem.....eggs in one basket. All it takes is a change of franchise strategy or sales manager/DP with a different view to those departed and all the legwork is wasted.

Not easy but it always pays to keep your options re OPCs open imo.
Well this is what happened, the people I knew including the DP all left. Now I'm left scratching around trying to get a car, all this strategising and game playing is tiring I just want a damn car. Kept my 991.1 gt3 for 3 years and did 10k miles, if I get one I will actually use it and keep the thing. Whole allocation process is a total joke, it should be centralised at Porsche GB as they can track who has bought what across all dealerships.
So you've already had a GT3 and now you're crying in your knickers because you can't get another one.......?
Riiiiggghhhttttt.......

What about the many enthusiasts out there who have never had one nor will ever get one?

Take a look at yourself you selfish ****!

People who think this car will be unlimited production and not a "limited run" car are gonna be in for a surprise....
Same goes for manual... its limited...

The car is not officially 'limited run' but limited by the constraints of production. Especially for the UK market.

Many other manufacturers have produced and will produce many more 'limited run' models in far greater numbers than the GT3.

on Geneva AP said that people need to understand we are not able to produce - say- 10.000 of these, not a chance.

Its a low volume Low profit model.

Same goes for the 6 speed R Gearbox. Suddenly it wont be available anymore, gone.

And latest rumour through the grapevine is that production on the 991.2 GT3 ends when summer holiday period starts in 2018, effectively making it a 1 year only production.

I find it amazing that people haven't grasped this yet. Its really quite straight forward.
