That looks like a centimetre and indeed a bigger overhang.

Nice pic. It's the brake ducts too that mainly scrape

I am assuming that everyone who was going to get a car in the first round of allocations had now got the good news. For those of us in with a chance of getting a later car does anyone have a feel for when OPC's will get the next round of allocations ? When I was invited to put a deposit down I was told I should know for sure in the next couple of months. Is that consistent with what others have heard ?

Just trying to manage my paranoia !
Some dealers haven't had their allocations yet for sure...

I went in person to see my OPC today. They told me they have their allocations, but will not be notifying who has a car until late March/early April.
That seems strange to me - clearly they are keeping their cards close to their chest. They added their first delivery will be October.
Time will tell...

I scraped the front lip about 20 seconds and 5 meters into ownership of my GT4 as I exited the OPC showroom. I'd have happily paid £1500 for axel lift if I could to have avoided the scalding look I got from my partner.

It's the only infuriating thing with the GT4 - that you couldnt option lift - must be something to do with the packaging to why they haven't offered it?

The GT4 doesn't need axle lift. It's not as low as the 991 GT3, and doesn't have the same overhang or weak approach angle. I had places where a GT3 would scrape even with axle lift engaged, and in the same places, a GT4 wouldn't scrape.

It's not a packaging issue, the 2 cars are mechanically very similar on the front end.

Took the GT3 (991) out of storage after the winter months
Drive the 100 miles up to a meeting in Cambridge
Off the motorway I pressed sport and for 30 miles it didn't go above 5th
And I'm thinking ....
The new GT3 has no sport button
What in hell is it going to be like !!

Won't provide an instant uptick in value, it's not a real alternative for most gt3 buyers surely... wink

Nor is it manual, normally aspirated or have incredible high rev limit

Plus its ugly. For someone after that sort of car, would you not just go for a newer 540/570 in he same price bracket....

I did briefly look at 12C as I think they look better than the 540/570.. in the end definitely need a manual... so out. I did say that to the Mclaren guy at Geneva, he looked at me a bit oddly!

+1.

That cars way too expensive for a 3 year old, even with the mileage!

Makes most Porsche GTs look well used!

I find the 570s a great looking car for mclaren. I didn't want to like it but you can't deny it's a great drive, controls and annoying functions inside are not

AT least you have hydraulic steering, I am yet to have a go in a 570S , but it sounds a great drive.
