Thanks av - not the 1000's and 1000's some said : do you know when the final quarters figures are published ?
Cheers
Those will be the worldwide numbers I guess.Cheers
Should know final numbers by early April.....same with GT4 and Spyder.
Are you hoping to keep the RS or would you change for the new GT3?

Thanks , very simple this - if there is a new GT3 or R lite manual (not interested if just an upspecced/up powered S) then I'm in (assuming OPC think I'm worthy) - if it's just a more powerful .2 GT3 PDK S then its absolutely not for me . Seems to be lots of conflicting views, I guess we'll all be a bit clearer in March. Should know final numbers by early April.....same with GT4 and Spyder.

Actually prefer the front of the 991.1 GT3 to the 2....imho the slanted indicator lenses look better than the horizontal ones. The better looking (imo) darker headlamps on the gen 2 could well be standard as per the GT4 whereas with the 991.1 they only came with the light package option. av185 said:

I thought the same thing, but wondered if it was purely familiarity with the GT3.1 front end compared to the GT4.av185 said:
As posted on Rennlist by a Michael Chang:"Sorry, first post in the Rennlist forums. I saw someone else had posted these images already, but I am the creator of these photos, and I just wanted to make clear these aren't Porsche official photos, The car in the images is based on the 2017 GT3 cup car"

GT4.
Always thought the outer rad vent openings looked a touch cheap and err, placcy, compared to the 991.1 GT3.
Interesting that Porsche seem to be moving towards a plainer and less 'aggressive' front appearance in contrast to other manufacturers recent trends.

... 'manuel' ...
I wish you would stop writing that. Why do you do it?The play on the 'manuel' typo is to call it a Spanish box. Not sure what other reference makes sense...

Just received my copy of Car Magazine and there are some details on the 991.2 GT3. Pure speculation but worth sharing non the less...
GT3 will be unveiled at Geneva in March, 3.8 litres and just under 500 bhp. GT3 RS will be 4.0 and 525 bhp for a 2018 launch. PDK is standard but manual from the R is an option.
So it isn't just a cheaper R but subtly different with a smaller, more highly tuned engine and the option of either gearbox.
Exciting times ahead, just hope my OPC gets plenty...

Yes agree, I don't think they'll be making a wingless option which is a shame. They'll just offer the usual car with a choice of gearbox. There's no way that they won't offer the 6 speed manual after spending all that money developing it to only stick it in 991 cars as in the 911R. Interestingly I've been told that the manual will also be offered in the next GT3RS too. Apparently there isn't much more power or tech to be added to the next gen so the main addition / differentiator will be a manual gearbox. We will see!
