Have you connected a lead to intialise the amp from the Dynavin.

If I recall the CDR sends a signal to switch the amp on or off and you have to mimic this with the Dynavin or the bass speakers will not kick in.

Hope this helps

No how do I do this ?

I thought these were/are plug and play units, no messing with wires

Now your testing my brain and at my age thats not good, cant even remember what I had for lunch. They are plug and play but the sound system plus adds that extra amp which needs an activation signal from the head unit.

I had this when fitting a pioneer model.

Will try and dig out some of the old paperwork with wiring for amp and head.

Yes this is really frustrating, the amp isn't working with the dynavin unit( sounds tinny and bass speakers crackle) The wiring harness has a wire which is labeled amp which isn't going to anything (And has nothing to connect to) Reason I purchased this unit is because its plug and play nothing to do with splicing wires.

There is no mention in the instructions or wiring diagram, which is really fekin anyoing as I've spent most of Sunday on the drive with it in bits. This could be the person who's had it before me as feked the harness as didn't need the amp so pulled it out the connector ?

Jim

Found these, never throw anythng away

This is the amp wiring and I believe the remote wire is the one that needs a postive signal from the head unit

This is the wiring from the CDR24 and one of the positives will feed down to that remote wire, sorry but not sure which one (gut tells me A5, but please check)

If all else fails give Dynavin a bell, they are really helpful

Yep, defo sounds like you haven't initiated the amp. Its like sending a power signal to an old style electric aerial to get it to kick in.

Looks to me like plug A wire 5 on Dynavin ???????????

Yes thanks that seems to be the problem.

The loose wire is A5 on the diagram which means it's come out of the harness.

I will contact dynavin and get a replacement sent out.

Thanks

Got the Dynavin fitted to my 987, brilliant. It is plug and play but only if you have the basic sound system.

I had the same issue of not powering the amp, should have realised really when you think about it, has to be powered on or off or would be left live all the time. Thanks Dynavin help team. Once powered up works like a dream and the sat nav is superb.

There is only one Dynavin model available for 987 997 Porsche.

Sat nav looks ok but I haven't used it to find a place yet, I only got it as the Porsche system didn't have iPod connection and the CD player isn't working.

Hope this helps
