Little longer than 4 hours but if you're at Balloch head quickest route to Aberfoyle and go over the Dukes Pass, then head north to Glencoe and do the Loch Leven loop, south on the A828 to Connel, A85 to Crianlarich and then the A82 back.
I'm sure someone can come up with something better though my knowledge of the area is limited.

Another good loop would be, A817 (military road, Glen Fruin) to A814 to Arrochar, A83 west the 'Rest and Be Thankful' on to Inverary, then A819 north to Dalmally and the A85 back to Crianlarich and then A83 down Loch Lomond side.
Some of that can have a high police presence especially after the 'Rest' to Inverary. But good roads and souldn't be very busy.
Also might be worth a look at the old Glen Fruin road and Glen Douglas roads, both single track.

That's around 200 miles so I reckon it would be ~4.5 hrs. The A84/A85 from Kilmahog to Crianlarich aren't that brilliant and the A82 south of Ardlui on the return leg can be a right pain if you get caught up in a camel train. JM said:

~2.5-3hrs depending on traffic. Add a bit extra for a photo op at Rest and be Thankful and a stop in Inverary* which will neatly occupy the 4hr time frame.
* eat at Brambles Cafe and stock up with the firewater here.

Thanks, from memory couldn't remember if it was A85 or A82 between Tyndrum and Crianlarich, should really be A82/A85. A83 was just a typo, was meant to be 82.
It will also depend on where the OP is staying as to what is the best option for him.
And finally to add that a loop of the Dukes Pass and then into Calendar and back towards Aberfoyle on the A81 is a good short alternative. The option of fish and chips in Calendar should never be ignored.

ALso well worth taking the road down to coulport - its a very fast road with some great sweeping bends and great camber. Designed that way so missle lorries and warhead trucks can go down with minimal risk of tipping over.Also might be worth a look at the old Glen Fruin road and Glen Douglas roads, both single track.

As Coulport is on a peninsula you have to go back again.
Unless you do the full circuit via the B833 to Kilcreggan and Garelochhead.
In good weather it's a pleasant drive along the shoreline with the different views out and back.

I tried out a few of the suggestions and also found a nice hidden gem of a singletrack road which was completely deserted from Arrochar heading to Helensburgh past a naval base.
The views out at rest and be thankful road where there was a car park/viewing area were spectacular. Car performed brilliantly also.
Had an early morning walk at Conic hill and then a good day of driving after. Slept well that night

Rest-and-be-Thankful was a well known hill climb venue from 1949-1970. It was also used for the 1982 Scottish rally.

The A83 suffers from landslips and the old road is then used as a diversionary route.
