Here's the thing

We would like another dog, current pooch is a medium sized terrier based mutt, he'll stretch out comfortably on the (narrow) back seat of my 1994 Merc SL. This is okay, we do plenty of longish 6-7 hour journeys. When we were dog sitting we tried a 6 kilo yorkshire terrier in the back as well, they both curled up to squeeze in, ok for short runs, but not fair for the longer ones.

What convertible (needs to be wide) will carry 2 medium size (say 15 kilo) dogs comfortably on the back seat?
I'm happy to run older cars I can maintain myself, but due to no garage I don't want anything too fragile. Mod cons such as A/C electric roof are a must.

Up to £25k but would rather spend around £10k (value of current SL + a couple of £k)

Thanks, just had a look @ some photos.

I doubt I'd get something with more space, I'll put on my list of cars to see.
It'll be sad to see the old SL go.

Read the thread title and thought, for a moment, that you were after the canine version of this...

Any 4 seat convertible would be fine.

I used to have a 57Kg Great Dane in the back of both a BMW 330ci convertible and an Audi S4 convertible.

I have a 4 seat convertible (well 2+2) it's the seat width that's the problem, 1 dog fine, 2 dogs not okay for long trips, they need to able to move and stretch themselves
