Ive got a fish tank using halogen bulbs, usually T8PRO tropical daylight by Interpet (as thats what Pets at Home sells), but seem to put a new bulb in every 6 months or so. With LED replacements available for most bulbs now is there an LED replacement for this type?

Its this one if anyone can help

Thanks

What are the dimensions of the tank, and are you wanting to grow real plants?

If you're not trying to grow plants, then it doesn't really matter what lighting you use, so long as it isn't too bright (which would encourage algae).

If you are wanting to grow plants, then you need roughly 1 to 2 Watts of fluorescent lighting per US gallon of tank volume. So work out the volume in litres (length times depth times width in centimetres, and divide by 1000) then divide by 3.8. For LED lights you want a fairly similar wattage, or maybe slightly lower.

Without plants, I'd keep it well below 1 Watt per US gallon.

Halogen bulbs are not a good choice for aquariums. They run hot, and if they get a slight splash of water on them the sudden cooling will cause them to fail. Stick to fluorescent or LED.
