That's extremely optimistic IMO

I know of a stunning 996 Turbo with extremely low miles has been on the market at a Porsche specialist for nearly half that price

FWIW, the car's been sat in the showroom for about 1 year!

Thanks but thats a non X50/S tiptronic with 3x the mileage? Tips are much harder to sell. Nice car nevertheless.

I've only driven a "normal" manual 996 Turbo but for that money I'd have to think a 997 Turbo S is a better buy ? Don't know much about how the two compare TBH not having driven a 997 Turbo.

I think we can conclude that Turbo S prices are bonkers, given it's a badge and option engineering run-out model, and increasingly divorced from vanilla or even X50 996 Turbo and 997 Turbo prices. The fact remains that there are a handful of RHD manual Turbo S coupes, and that rarity combined with market hysteria over limited edition Porsches is doing funny things to asking prices.

And before shocked owners pop out of the woodwork accusing me of talking down the market, this is from someone with one of the very last 996 Turbo S manual coupés in the garage, albeit one with 70k on the clock.

So nice not to have to worry about piling on the miles - managed a few more than you - car loves it.

Bravo, IMI_A :-)

My 996 is just about as dirty. I don't use it every day, but I don't shy away from using it for mundane drives in the winter as well as driving for fun. Given that I can't find anything as fun and versatile to replace it with, it would be a crying shame if I had to worry about the cost of every mile in depreciation.

Same here she stopped being a daily driver a few years ago as I now spend most of my time overseas.

Can't think of many sports cars which can dismiss wintry conditions at warp 9 like a turbo - 10 years old and still drives perfectly with no squeaks or rattles which is pretty amazing smile

Lovely looking car the Maser but a forgettable drive and cheap plastics inside. Understand where you're coming from but I can't see these low mileage garage queens ever being driven again for normal day to day use. Shame
