Off to Geneva to see the new GT3
Will I replace my 991 GT3? Not sure
Been offered tickets by BMW Alpina to visit their stand
Have asked my OPC if I can get tickets to step on to the Porsche stand
Be interesting to see if I do get access

Anyone been given the nod on the 991.2 GT3?

I offered to give my dealer a 'reach-around' to guarantee mine. I'm still waiting for confirmation.

I've been told I probably won't get one. Disappointing , but I understand the reason.

Happy to stick with my 991.1 GT3 for the time being!

If it were that easy we'd all be offering that.

No nod,but dealer says they have narrowed their list down to about 15 names who they would want to sell to and I'm on it ,who will get one from that list depends on their allocation.

How did you find the PDK-S in your GT3 RS?

I think in time the GT3 that revs out to 9000rpm may be the GT3 to have (as long as its under warranty).

That would depend if you're serious about track work or just want it for Sunday afternoon drives I guess?

Why does it? Both examples Id want manual.

PDK only makes sense to me for some daily drivers (when stuck in traffic for example), or road-tests where 0-60 matters. Every other time Id take manual.

For 'serious' track use where I'd want the fastest lap times possible I'd want PDK. Quicker changes and both hands on the wheel at all times.

For weekends only and 'fun' track use I'd go manual for the extra interaction, same if it's a daily that doesn't involve heavy traffic on the commute.

If it has to be a daily with lots of stop-start traffic I'd go PDK.

Lightening quick gear changes is hardly going to add up to much over a given lap, besides, the average track dayer would benefit more from braking later/harder than concerning themselves with saving 0.00001s in gear changes. Plus, manually heal and toeing a high reeving engine in perfect unison under hard braking is like composing a symphony to me, and ultimately, a sense of achievement - I can never understand why anyone would not want to master this (unless they cant drive for toffee tongue out).

For me PDK is more akin to playing on PlayStation, but then I guess it would be pretty boring if we all chose the same things...
