The headlights on my 2001 A3 have become very dim recently, to the point I'd rather not drive it at night.

Any suggestions on fixes, is it likely to be the bulbs? I found a thread on a yank forum about adjusting the beam as a potential solution.

Cheers!

Firstly, do the lenses need a clean?

Conventional halogens or Xenons?

Standard halogens.

I'll take a look tonight, I've given them a clean but googled your suggestion and came across this.

Will give that a go first.

Cheers!

Headlamp restoration kit from Autoglym etc. works remarkably well.

Treat yourself to a pair of "Osram Nightbreaker Plus" bulbs at the same time. About £30 and genuinely surprising the difference such a cheap upgrade makes.

I have used the 3m restoration kit that you attach to a drill with good results. Cleaned up the lenses on my car and a friends s3 quite well.

Fit Hids... the light units are fitted with protector lenses...
Only way to go if you want to see at night

A hid kit, unless its 4000k will actually make you see less smile

We've fitted hids in ours... alignment is perfect and can see a lot more than we could with standard bulbs.
