Contemplating a hopeful return to 911 ownership soon, having spent a few years out of the UK in a non-911-friendly location!

In the UK I had a 997.1 C2S atlas grey/chrono/Bose/lobster claw 19's/sunroof. Loved the understated colour of atlas grey but my eye has been drawn to the linked 997.2 3.6. Fab spec inc the black 19" sports (depending on which advert you view!).

This has been on sale for weeks/reducing accordingly. Wondered if anybody had views - guards red the problem?! Looks cool & well specced - only thing missing from my wish list is chrono, but maybe gen 2 345 vs gen 1 c2s @ 355bhp not too far off.

Appreciate thoughts.

I doubt Guards Red is the problem with that car...rare colour on the 997 and much more popular now than when that car was new. Looks great with the black wheels. Don't know pricing of these well enough to comment but if it's the right price I'd be wondering why it hasn't sold too...

The plate indicates that it is a Northern Irish car confirmed by being sold by a Northern Irish dealer.

These plates are quite common in the U.K. though as a way of getting a cheap non dating plate.

I think it looks great. When you come to sell, advertise it in the right place. There will be someone out there who thinks the same.

I would definitely buy it if i was in the market, looks great with those wheels and upgraded exhaust. And cheaper road tax with that model which is an added bonus!!

Looks great. I bought my 997.2 C2S last year from this same dealer. I'm based in the London area so a 350 mile drive back + a ferry ride. My car had the spec I was after and was well priced compared to my local OPCs and specialists so was happy to take the trip. Downside is if the car turns out to be a lemon would be tricky to take it back due to the distance. Though you may be able to liaise with their parent group, Lookers, locally.

Mine also came with NI plates which are still on it. It is a daily drive and has been perfect.

Thanks for all of your comments. I think the Guards Red does look amazing with the black 19's. Had seen the dealer was Northern Ireland hence the plates and had done prior research that not a problem changing plates in England - but if you can leave the NI plate on then as you mention, hides the age!
I've e-mailed dealer to ask about number of owners/service history/major work - maybe that will reveal why not selling!
one of the dealers ads shows the car having GBP7.5k of extras, and that list didn't even include PASM and the partial carbon trim pack so thinking options come nearer to 10k!

Sports Chrono is only really of benefit if you've got the PDK version, as it changes the gearbox mapping considerably. For the manual, all it adds is a shorter throttle map in Sport and an ugly wart on top of the dash!

Looks great, far too many boring coloured Porsches out there!
I would wager that the main reason that hasn't sold is because it's in Northern Ireland. You're either buying unseen or going through the hassle of flying there and back just to view it.

This. I spotted this car in my recent search for a 997.2 but was put off by the distance and also the non-specialist nature of the dealer.

Looks correctly but not keenly priced. I watch these all the time because it's the same as mine (but mine is black).

When I viewed a c2s recently, one of the things that made me hesitate about
viewing was the colour.
When I actually saw it it was the thing that convinced me.
Guards is a great colour on a 997

When I was looking for a 997.2 I actively sought out a Guards red car.

Definitely hearing positives re Guards red which is encouraging! Still to hear back from dealer re history etc. Managed to get an over the internet quoted back-to-back good trade-in price also which supports that this is a very well priced car, not even taking account of the long list of optional extras. Thanks all for input!
