Hi all

Currntly have 2 seperate policies and they expire in a couple of weeks. So Fancy trying a multibike policy.

Any company recommendations????

I've called Bikesure as above, price not bad but would like to get a couple more quotes

Cheers all.

I have mine with Zenith via Pace Ward (broker) cars and bikes together, all one policy. Worth getting a quote for the convenience alone. I really cant be bothered ringing around multiple policies each year.

Costs me £110 to insure the Pan Euro; I asked for a quote to insure another bike (Guzzi 1200) and without transferring the Pan's policy over they wanted £250 which would of course have no NCD.
However the quotes I got for a multibike policy were all coming in around £370, how the hell is that worth doing? confused
May as well keep them separate and avoid getting royally bummed for 'admin charges' any time I make a minor change - or swap a bike.

I'm currently with Bennets as last year the individual prices were ok, £430 FC on a 16 ZX-10R & £130 on my '09 one, I've had the renewal come through for the 16 plate and it's over £900 !!!!!!!!'

Bikesure have quoted £630 for multibike with all the options ticked, about same as both individual prices last year.

Just looking for less hassle but if individual prices work out cheaper then of course I'll go that route again

I generally alternate between Bennets and Carole Nash.

Only thing to watch for, if you currently have a decent no claims bonus on two policies you will lose one of those moving to a multi bike policy unless you insure something else every two years, or flip your no claims bonus every year.

Give Principal insurance a call. Ok I know that there is so many variables to insurance, so whats cheap for me might be sky high for you but.....

For me 29 year old
5 years ncb
two crashes against me (not my fault)
meh area,

zx6r, fireblande and Daytona 675 was about £500 fully comp.

I just added my fourth bike I bought today, phoned up expecting to get humped.... that will be a £134... I'm thinking that's ok for the next three months till renewal. No sir that's for the year. TAKE MY MONEY, TAKE IT NOW..........

Everywhere else was wanting £1500 plus multi bike insurance wise. I'd never heard of them and nearly gave up hope...I phoned on a whim I think.

You are falling foul of the renewal/repeat business premium increase each and every insurance company does it so those not paying attention help to line the insurance companies pockets for what I see as no valid reason - so you get smart and ensure you shop around each and every year and play them at their own game.
I was playing ping pong between Bennetts and RAC/Devitt - but RAC came back with a 900+ renewal quote (£300 more than last year for no reason other than they've dumped tie in with Devitt it seems) having originally got my business off bennetts by significantly undercutting them. So anyway back with Bennetts again who undercut my renewal premium by virtually £400 and more than £100 off the premium I paid last year through RAC LOL
Note I paid around £100 or so more in premium to avoid MCE full stop.

I'm with bennetts, just over £600 last year for a 2016 R1-M and a 2004 R1.

Got a feeling I'm gonna get a right spanking this year as I'm changing bikes again. Where's R1 Loon when you need him.

Just had my renewal through so did the obligatory online search. Ironically, principal who are my current insurer are the cheapest, drastically lower than the renewal!

Anyway, my main bike is a 1199s. I asked about a price to add a 2k gsxr 750 and it was 80 quid extra for the year. All they need to quote is the value and cc initially.

I struggle to comprehend some of the figures mentioned in this thread. I'm figuratively sitting on the floor having fallen off my chair looking at quotes online. I've been riding for 4 years, have had a street triple (from new)and a tiger 800(same), also have a gt550 (classic). My insurance was around £800 multi bike. I haven't ridden in the last year and have been looking at getting back onto two wheels for the commute. Looking for quotes on an old street triple a friend has lying around, or a monster 1200 S / super duke 1290R that I would buy from new.

However, quotes are RIDICULOUS. £4500 was the cheapest for the two new bikes, and £1100 for the street triple thats only worth £4k.

To put this into context, I'm 28, live in N1, three years NCD, no bike accidents or claims. bike would be kept on private property, shackled to the ground through an anchor and a purpose built pipe set into concrete fitted with alarm, immobiliser and tracker. My other half would also ride, she's 30, three years licence and two years NCD.

Why is the insurance our Porsche and defender, kept on the street, less than £1k whilst bike insurance for a bike stored very securely so bloody crazy? This must have been a recent thing. Has anyone else noticed mental premium quotes recently? Would anyone be able to suggest a broker or insurer that can help me without taking the P155?

Thanks! / rant over

Hi rant over wink

Agree on your quotes... crazy!!!

In reality both my 10R's are ridden in the same manner, have 'similar' performance, yet the '09 was £134 to insure last year fully comp, protected, max NCD and the new (then) 16 model was £450 with '0' NCD, as stated above, 1 year on the renewal for the new bike has doubled to over £900..... even though there havent been any claims.

So, looking around for a multibike policy or if its cheaper to go individual policies again, i may end up doing that.

3rd year of riding, 2 years on a 125cc and third year introduced a Daytona for weekend fun and good days, kept the 125 to soldier me to and from work each day regardless of weather.

With bennetts it ended up cheaper to have my Daytona and 125 as a multibike than it did with the first year of insuring my 125 on its own!

Seconded. They've been my fav insurance company for a few years now. They do my cars and bikes and it's nice not to have to shop around at renewal
