Based on you owning a pair what would you recommend?

ive got a couple of pairs, shoshoni who are now defunct and some triumph ones which are great.
They are more comfortable on a bike night / shops but the trade off is protection.
both mine have ce armour and i did take a tumble in the shoshoni and they did the business.
my mate love his draggin jeans.
i wouldnt be without them, my next pair will be alpinestars as ive lost a bit of weight.
cheers

I have Draggin holeshots which are ce2 rated and a little heavy and warm, I then got Bull-it sr6 jeans. They are a snugger fit, lighter and let more air through and I wear them more.
The Bull-it sr6 would be ce2 if they were lined to the ankles instead of the calves and had elastic heal straps. The draggin holeshots are normally over £200 but were £120 from eBay. Infinity motorcycles have been selling the Bull-it jeans on eBay half price for £70.
I use d30 armour on the hips in the jeans pockets and forcefield limb tubes under the jeans on knees.

The pekev fibre ones, I think have same abrasion resistance as leather.

Dainese D1
http://www.dainese.com/gb/en/p.-d1-pred.-evo/20175...

I've slid along on the knees of these on a gravel topped road at near 30mph without a scuff on the jeans. Was most impressed. I do wear knee and hip armour underneath if I'm cracking on. Most jeans that offer good abrasive protection still don't have the protectors built into most textile/leather suits and trousers.

Looked at the Dainese D1 PRED which look good, a little over the budget. They also do a Bonneville which is a little cheaper.

Other options locking at my local bike shop, M&S, are the Route One Huntsman and the RST Aramid Vintage II which are £130 and £99

I've got a pair of Bullitt SR8's and they've been very good, they have a full kevlar protective lining from the waist down to mid shin (worth checking this when you're looking at any jeans imo) another positive is that they look like regular jeans when I'm off the bike. Should come in well under your budget.

Not sure about other jeans now as I haven't looked in a while.

But when I bought the Dainese jeans, the were the only ones on the market which had Kevlar stitched into the denim itself, as well as further reinforcement panels inside. Most of the other jeans just had reinforcement panels in normal jeans.

If you're super paranoid, you could do what my mate did. Bought some Dainese jeans and then had an extra full layer of Kevlar fabric stitched into the full inside of the jeans... cost him another £150 to get done.

Rokker revolution are the best I've had. Fit and look like regular jeans. Waterproof too. Expensive though.

British hood jeans are really well made and should be in budget with d30 armour

I have Kyrano (Hood) part lined which are very comfortable and my favourites, and Road Skin fully lined which are very tough, warm, but a slightly odd fit for me. I think they are designed for people who are in denial about their waistline smile.
Can't comment on eithers effectiveness in a spill as I've never needed them.

Had a look for SR8 jeans but they are £250.

I was thinking about last night and wondered about some Kevlar leggings so could then wear any trouser I want?

Edit: Did a quick search and this was the first result - http://www.urbanrider.co.uk/bowtex-unisex-kevlar-l...

I bought a pair of Draggin Jeans camo trousers ten years ago, but I ordered them too big so they are awkward to wear. They seem robust, never 'tested' them though. They offer no wind or weather protection so you need something else over them in crap weather.

I just bought a pair of proper waterproof, windproof, bike trousers, which seem more practical, with amour inside, though maybe not as 'trendy' looking.

Yes I have a proper pair of biker trousers for longer rides and inclement weather

I bought Draggin regular black jeans some 5 years ago. They are extremely hard wearing & not too hot for the summer. Knee armour held in by velcro is not confidence inspiring.

Hood - they're about the only ones that look like 'normal' jeans and the only ones that are long enough for me.

I have a pair of Helstons with knee and hip armour. I like them. On the (rare!) occasion that I've not had time to get changed and have worn them at work nobody seems to have noticed. I see that as an advantage. They do get a bit hot though...

My camo Draggin Jeans look a bit like that.. I bought them with a 4" too big waistline, to allow for, er events....like me gaining 20 kg etc.

Great excuse to have a good feed I guess?
