Perhaps Boeing have taken the 'roll eyes quietly and get on with it' rather than getting in to a twitter off about 'alternative' facts? He already started on them ref the next Air Force 1 costs which i have no doubt they'll ultimately win, but they publically appeared to back down and be willing to 'review' rather than get into a slagging match.

I remember from the TV documentary series about the 777 that Boeing used foreign subcontractors widely for that project.There was some discussion about the public resistance to using Japanese companies for a lot of of the aircraft - it was thought that Boeing were showing the Japanese the tech to build their own large aircraft and also that they were exporting US jobs. Boeing partly felt that having parts made in Japan would help them sell the 777 to Japanese airlines.
