Went for a 100 mile jaunt yesterday and the temperature just kept climbing until it stopped at 55 degrees (I'm guessing it doesn't go any higher).

The internal gauge was knackered too as it most certainly was not 27........another thing for the niggle list when it goes in next weekend.

The list so far includes:

1) Fix the temperature sensors.
2) Fix an annoying rattle from somewhere around the sat-nav screen on the passenger side.
3) Check the driver door closing as i'm sure it's dropped slightly as you can feel and hear the door mechanism clunk on the catch before closing (doesn't occur on the passenger side).
4) Condensation in both headlights. I know it's a standard issue but i'd rather I'd made it clear it's an issue from day one even though they may not be able to do anything.
5) Washer jets missing the screen and shooting straight over the top of the car. Easy fix I know but they may as well sort them whilst it's in (probably an MOT failure anyway).
6) There's a squeal from somewhere around the driver side front when starting the car from cold. It doesn't stop until the engine is warm.
7) Speaker cover behind the passengers head has fallen off completely.
8) Retrim the wheel in Alcantara (already agreed as part of the deal but couldn't be done before collection as I only gave them 3 days).

Car also gets a service, MOT and fresh 12 month warranty all courtesy of the Timeless scheme so i'm happy enough.

Thanks that's it for now biggrin

These things are just an annoyance but they don't give me any negative thoughts towards the car, they're just part and parcel of a handmade car in my book. A couple of them should have been picked up before delivery though (like the speaker trim) but hey ho, not to worry.

OK, so the beast went into Works for this list to be looked at and yesterday confirmed that yes sir, you're correct in that the drivers door doesn't fit properly and sits too proud. They said it now needs to go into the body shop for them to "tilt" the door (whatever that entails) which means the front wing, sill and glass etc all need to be fettled too.

On one hand I'm not bothered as they're sorting it all and I can't think of anyone other than Works that I'd want to do it. On the other hand i'm a bit pissed off that a badly fitting door and warped sill wasn't spotted and sorted before they sold the car or at the very least during pre-collection prep.

They're also waiting for a response from the factory regarding the squealing noise.

The problem is that we think when a main dealer buys a car it goes through some sort of special checks prior to purchase and definitely prior to sale. Lots of manufacturers give the impression that only a main dealer car is good enough. In many many cases (not all) this is just total baloney and a car that an independent would never put his own money into is snapped up by a buyer using the PLC's money.
I have never met a salesman, buyer or bodyshop manager than can inspect a car as well I can all on my own and have rejected more cars from main dealers than i have bought.

+1 People get caught up when it's "factory" this or that and think it always means better quality or experience. It really all just depends on the quality of people working there and the leadership of the shop.
