How does it work with restaurants where you order at a till? Are the prices set higher to incorporate a tip or should you still tip 10% if the waiter/waitress has been good?

I got asked for 20%+ at a Buffet breakfast in a Disney hotel, it was about $30 per person too. They wanted over six dollars a person for showing us to our table

Unless the waiter/ess actually do something I wouldn't even think about it.

Don't tip - anywhere. There should be no need whatsoever, it's just a con. If the staff are poorly paid then that's the owner's problem and, hopefully, the staff will soon find somewhere better.

Same here. I go as far as asking for service charge to be removed from my bill.

exactly. I don't tip for something that should be expected (good service). Why if you're with a group of friends would you pay someone an extra £30-50 just because they walked about 10metres with your drinks/meal and they're already getting a wage.

Like where? Waiting staff all rely on tips.
Simple question, where are they all to go for these high wages?

Have you never had any kind of bonus at work?

There's this thing called the national minimum wage, maybe you've heard of it?

Do you tip the server in McDonalds?

That might be a genuine question soon...my local one has started a table delivery service whereby you order at the "kiosk" (a big vertical touch screen in the middle of the room) take a plastic number on an A frame and wait at your table for your "food" to arrive.

Yeah, but not at GBK - it's just a slightly better BK. And Nandos is just a poorer value KFC.

So you tip at Nando's? Which although I do like, is a glorified fast food joint.

Never been in GBK - but in Nandos someone shows you to a dirty table then cleans it, hopefully not pushing old food on to your clothes.
You choose your food from a menu that was already there, then queue up to order and pay for it.
Whilst there you look on in horror at all the food on the pass cooling down, waiting to be dispatched to tables.

Next you go to another table and get your own tools, condiments and drinks, then go and sit down and wait a bit too long for your food.
If there are more than one of you someone's food will be pipng hot, the rest will be luke warm. (see food on the pass comment earlier)

And they expect a tip for this? You do all the work!

I will tip in restaurants where I receive service.
I don't tip where I do just about everything except cook and wash up.

Nando's is st. Why would I tip anyone for getting st food and even sttier service? Yes, I've only been once. That was enough.

Anywhere else then no, unless I know the money is going to the waiter/waitress, otherwise, I assume it's just lining the establishments pockets even more.

I've walked past Nando's a number of times. Always a queue of councillists outside, so never been tempted to go in.
