I am looking for something to replace my Mini Cooper. I would like a petrol as I don't do the millage. Also not too fused on a car, just want something reliable that will retain its value and that's a little different.

No mines a Gen 1 Mini. The new one is huge. I quite like Volvo C30 and I am a fan of a Golf GTI

Audi A1 is the obvious choice

Possibly they do look nice, I was thinking of something a little bigger. Also the A1 are rather expensive. Looked at a BMW 1 series but I am not sure whether to go for a petrol or diesel.

Budget is about 10,000. I don't do many miles so like a petrol. Just want something a bit different, reliable and holds its value.

Most cars won't hold their value they'll all depreciate, at this price point they're all going to lose money at roughly the same rate.

The Volvo C30 in T5 form isn't a patch on the Focus ST but still an okay car.

2012 C30 T5 40k

Other Alternative Options:

2011 Alfa Giulietta TBI Cloverleaf 31k

2014 Kia GT Tech 18k (Underrated & well worth a look)

If you have to go with the normal picks then the Megane RS250 is the one to choose.

The Alfa looks lovely, and I have not seen one of those before. I really do like the C30 only seen a 2.0 petrol. Not keen on Renault. But the Kia is quite tempting also.

I don't think the new 3dr Mini is not that different size wise from the Mk1 apart from a way higher front end, I liked driving one & have a R53 at the moment.

I do like driving it, just looking for something different, bit bigger, and a bit more power.

No I don't think I will go for another Mini to be honest. I was also looking at a BMW 1 series M Sport 1.6 petrol. Not sure what they are like.
