'B is for Build' V8 Vantage
Discussion
If you haven't already discovered 'B is for Build' on YouTube, welcome to his next 'build': a V8 Vantage. Chris came to a lot of people's attention when he rebuilt an Evora from scrap (and a few BRZs before that). Although it is often a case of 'B is for Bodge', it is invariably compulsive viewing. Enjoy.

This is what he's got planned:
I imagine that will get most of the red trouser brigade throthing into their sherries.
(The reason for the 700bhp engine swap is because he is in a 'build off challenge' with a couple of other 'youtoobers'. It would be very tricky to get the current engine & transmission up to those numbers).

I really enjoy the channel. That chassis leg on the evora is very questionable but I like his muddle it through and have a go attitude.
Fair play on planning on ditching the am drivetrain, he should net a fair bit for that, provided it does actually run I would think.
What he has planned for the car isn't what I would want but at least he's saving it from being stripped for spares.

Lol I made a cameo at the 3:30 mark in that video.
Chris's expectations for this build have gotten far more realistic than when he bought the car several months ago. I was introduced to him by another guy and we've chatted a bit. I sent him some parts to get a few issues sorted and gave him a few of my thoughts, and also put him in touch with a couple people to help him figure out some technical stuff and advise him on his original plans.
Should be interesting to see how this project goes. Sounds like it's entirely cosmetic right now, which hopefully doesn't last long. The car's engine response from the factory is just awful, and would be catastrophic for a drift car. That's the very first thing I'd address if I were doing that project.

Interesting turn of events with the BifB Aston. Wide body was abandoned, 2JZ was was ditched and now he's killed the whole idea of turning it into a drift car, thankfully.
Basically he's caught the Aston bug. Driven almost 2000 miles in it in a week and has fallen in love with the ride, the way it drives, everything. Doesn't want to ruin it by stripping the interior and putting crap suspension on it.
Still got that fugly rear wing though, hopefully that won't stay but given he drilled the bootlid I think it may have to! It just doesn't work without the wide arches. I'd actually quite like to see him put the arches on, diffuser at the back and supercharge it.
He's said he's going to turn the 2JZ BRZ into his drift car now which has always seemed the logical thing to the rest of us.
I think he'll sell the Evora now and daily the Aston. Nice to see he's fixing up an E60 M5 V10 too.

The first thing that I notice, are the awful screw-on after market wheel arch extensions.
The builder must presumably have glass fibre skills, so smooth rounded contoured wing reshaping, to mimic GT3 / GTE front and rear wings, would be perfect.
Very easy to spoil an overall silhouette.
Here is the GT3 shape.
( I do recognise this still from a YouTube video. Worth watching to experience the wonderful exhaust sound. A small boy standing on the pavement nearby, 'jumps out of his skin' when the engine is started. )
