The SM at the OPC i used to use has won the Porsche national sales conversion award, but they weren't happy with my comments so deleted it and blocked me from their Instagram account. weeping I guess the national conversion award is for conning the most people into buying cars that they don't want by making them believe they will get a GT allocation. rofl

I don't know why people still fall for the 'buy a macan/cayenne/base 911 and you will get an allocation' line.

It's pointless.

Just think of all the money you have lost on buying other Porsches when you could have paid overs ONCE and got the car you want.

What is the thought process? - Ohh, I dont want to pay £30k over for a GT3 so I will spend £LOADS over 5 years on cars I dont want in order to avoid the £30k???

Bonkers!

My .2 was 135k and worth every penny but if you gonna buy metal that you do not need then that 135k buy at list isn’t so attractive..

OPC’s know very well that GT3.2 is a bargain at list.

And, really, does this buying extra cars really happen to hopefully secure a GT?.

Before I landed my .2GT3 I was thinking of paying overs. I spoke to the OPC that offered me the overs car and I stated ‘’it’s only a deal if you give me a letter stating I would definitely secure a .2RS later on’’, he declined and said NO to the letter - I then said ‘’fine but NO thanks then’’. So for me that’s cool, we knew where both of us stood. But where he messed up was stating to me ‘’definitely no more GT3’s coming to the UK’’ when trying to move the overs car to me.

Roll on 3 months, bingo, I was offered a .2GT3 slot from my first choice OPC to which never played BS games with me, just a genuine professional sales experience..

So, you here the nasty bits but there are some good bits too. And to note, I have only ever owned 2 Porsche’s, both GT3’s....

because it works?

iirc there was someone on here who bought 30 macans at once and got a gt2 rs as a direct result, he bought them as company cars for employees, ran them for a month or so then sold them back, did it through his company so he isn't taking the personal hit

If that is true then its the most bonkers thing I have ever heard!

I cant imagine how much hassle that would be with VAT and BIK etc etc etc.

Never mind 30 sales reps leaving when they get their Macan's snatched back and their Mondeos returned!

fished it out, I was a bit out (that's why I wrote IIRC)

original quote:

"With that in mind another nice story from PEC last year. A group of people were all there together for a 'Just got a new Macan' driving day. Turns out their non-Porsche owning boss was desperate for a GT3 RS. OPC says he can't have one as he needs to have ordered at least 15 new Porsches before he'll be considered. So he does just that. Orders 15 Macan's on the spot. Gave away the complimentary driving days to his staff. Oh, and he also got the RS. biglaugh"

Well, I can only speak as I find. Been buying Porsche cars for a very long time. Many of those from Porsche Sutton. Can say without any hesitation that the level of service that I have received not only from the sales team but also the service Dept has been as good as it gets.
