Or something like

That's gopping and right in the way o f the airflow into the main radiator, so could also, theoretically, fk your car up and void your warranty at the same time.

I agree, its only been an issue at the station once and ive only been reminded once by the Police to put it back on (was stationary, they drove past etc.)

As for the rear plate above, surely thats just asking to be tugged if Trafpol are behind you? PLus couldnt they get the angles lined up correctly?
To paraphrase Digs turn of phrase, it's gopping (as is the plate he referred to)
Keep it simple :

My old GT2 without plate :

and my GT3 :

And with the plate trimmed to fit the plinth with no overhang :

Oh you're right, it's just so terrible when someone insists on you not breaking the law...

Not forgetting that it gives the boys in blue an excuse to go over the whole car 'what else is wrong, then?' and they'll often report cars with private plates to the DVLA which results in a 'we'll take the reg away from you if you do it again' warning letter.

My standard fit OPC rear plate is on. Just looking at the options for the front. I would never obstruct the front ‘’air ( cooling / downforce ) intake’’ area,, no way..

Think it’s the stick on ones for me. Little job for Rick at Highgate,, if he would do a job that small, I make a right bulls of it, wonky and mega creased...lol..

I liked these too... but where is the plug for towing eye? On a GT4 it completely covered it.
It covers the rear eye socket on the rear but the front is available still and thats cool with me. Worst case is that i pull the rear plate off which is reusable.

The plates come in a lovely presentation box which includes laser cut cardboard stencils to fit as a template for the actual plate so its 100% level and centered on the car. The box also includes all the stickers for the plates which are 3M products from memory. You also get a card to show to the Police starting why they are legal for the potential inevitable interest.

I am not trying to be an ambassador for this product but it wasn't until it actually arrived that I could see the difference between them and dealer plates. If they crack or degrade you get replacements under warranty from memory too. I only contacted them for a front plate but they will not sell anything other than a set.

I think my set was about £125 and arrived the next day. Clearly this is a huge amount more than a £20 set from my OPC but they would not do a small front plate and now that I have them I think they are a subtle enhancement to the overall look of the car and that is hard to do on a GT3 for £125.

Ohhh, show me the "law" that says you must have a front number plate affixed to your car before you can fill it up with/purchase fuel for it.
Thought as much ....

Touch wood, I've never been stopped driving a car without a front plate. But if I was. I always have the "missing" plate in the frunk.

As for reporting cars with private plates to the DVLA, I think you may be getting your wires crossed, if the spacing or font of the letters/numbers is incorrect or they've been "doctored" to spell something, then yes, the BiB can and do report repeat offenders to the DVLA. But not displaying them ? I've yet to hear of an offender losing their cherished/private plate for such an infraction.

If you should decide to run the risk of not running a front plate, it's best to make sure everything about the car, your licence, RFL and insurance is squeaky clean, to do otherwise would be foolhardy.

Ensuring you comply with the law and mitigate risk of someone driving away without paying for fuel. (Plus, more and more forecourts have number plate recognition cameras for additional security) Couldn't work that out for yourself?
