Hello everyone

I've just acquired a 2014 991.1 turbo 14k miles. I am beyond happy with it. A beautiful beast. However, the tyres will need replacing in the next 1000 or so miles. I live in Scotland, plan to drive it through the winter, and have extended warranty from Porsche, so need to make sure the tyres I buy will not invalidate that. Apologies for kicking off with a dull post, but I couldn't find anything up to date in the search. Suggestions and advice very welcome. Thanks.

Just type your reg in one of the tyre sites black circles, oponeo etc and then choose tyres that are N rated, that will ensure they meet your warranty.

Thanks for that. What’s the difference between N0 and N1? Which is better?

I don’t think it is. N0 could be a new N rated tyre on its first approval I think? N1 would be the second incarnation of an already approved tyre, so could be an older design.

For example, the Michelin PS4S (which is largely assumed as a great tyre which Porsche won’t approve) would be N0 on its first approval but Porsche won’t play ball.

I stuck with PS2’s last time around as the car and tyre have more ability than me!

Yep ^ this is 100% correct.

I would advise against the Bridgestones as I had them and they are crap in the wet / cold.

I had winters put on for... winter, and they were well worth it. I think they were Nokians.

Thanks everyone. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier. I am a newbie, and due to some misbehaving (not by me, as far as I know) I was prevented from posting for a while. Just wanted to say thanks. I'm also getting better at searching, and see that this topic has come up a gazillion times, so thanks for your patience too. Right. Sun's oot. Time to wear a bit more off those tyres

Porsche have approved some sizes of PS4S which are "N" marked.
