GT3 prices going up

congratulations! I too had been watching for ages and jumped in at what I thought was sensible from OPC. What's the spec of yours? pics please!
What are the tyre pressures for everyday?
PTS , Clubsport , Matrix , Carbon Roof & Mirrors , Full Extended Leather and race tex....... I havn`t even taken any of my own pics yet but this is one from the advert :What are the tyre pressures for everyday?
and this is the 2 different recommended tyre pressures :
Brilliant love it. As mine I love silver or grey wheels. Too many with black wheels and they seem to get lost. I’ll check the pressures.
Mine as below. Lift, buckets but no cage, carbon roof, ceramics, Bose , cam, brushed black aluminium, standard leather and race tex. my2022 6k full topaz ppf. now I’ve had it since start of February absolutely love it!

The problem with tyre pressures is the varying makes of tyres supplied, these pressures should be looked upon as a starting pressure and see what it is like.
I hope your buying experiences have been better than mine with two cars rejected so far,one from a shocking opc and one from a specialist, not EP as they were good to deal with when i sold my 2019 rswp to them.

This looks to me like a pre-emptive lowering of pressures in anticipation of hotter running on track ... and of course continual monitoring.
It was not unusual for me to put 8psi back into a tyre after a good track day ... and on occasion 10psi ...
As for rejected cars, P, can you say any more ??
I was very happy with mine (at the price) but it took a few weeks to-ing and fro-ing to get missing keys and documents in place even though they were showing as present and correct on the 111 point check. On the other hand, I had a set of new tyres and a service and a lot of goodwill / help, so on balance I would definitely buy from the OPC again.

I wasn't fussy where I purchased from so long as it was the right car with the right spec I was after.
Tyre Pressures - There is a setting in the PCM to tell the car what set of pressures you intend on running. I believe that this is over and above the race / track day pressures you can select when reducing them due to over pressure which is separate.

Thanks , I have only driven it for a few hours but I love it so far........... I had a GT4 RS lined up to replace my 991.2 but after an extended test drive ( in the Alps no less !) I was very disappointed with the experience and the cabin noise was ridiculous , even on a normal drive. There is no way I could sit in that thing all day. Great on a trackday but for normal road driving.......not for me
.... this then led me on a search for a suitable 992 GT3 since before Xmas and slowly watching the prices decrease to semi normal levels again. I even discounted the new 3RS ( rightly or wrongly) for the same reason. I like a modicum of comfort for the sort of use the car gets. The only thing my 991.2 was missing for my perfect spec was cruise and BOSE but at the time , not a deal breaker. I`m older now !!
Anyway , I digress. Initial driving was the thing sticks to the road like glue. It feels more solid, more complete. There are no rattles or clonks from the cage. The cabin is a lovely place to sit and the new PCM 6 is night and day difference for me. Wireless android auto is great. I am not an Apple guy so had to make do until now. I think the new suspension hardware makes a big difference and I have read about peoples problems with the car feeling all over the place on B roads. Mine is well behaved and feels well within its limits even at excess speed. I wonder if the tyres pressures are to blame as there are 2 different settings for this , performance and everyday , the later being more inflated. Or maybe the alignment is a bit off from the factory on some cars. Who knows. The 4RS I test drove had to have an alignment as the owner was nearly spat off a bumpy road at not excessive speeds so went the Centre Gravity and they said that despite it being within porsche tolerances it was all over the place !!!
Shall I mention the noise ?? Yes , it is slightly muffled inside the cabin,. Less of the pops on the overrun and gear changes but I imagine it still sounds epic from the outside !! The difference inside between sports exhaust and normal is not alot and it doesnt have the swell of noise at around 4k revs if your short shifting through the box.
I`ll probably have more thoughts once I have got used to it and driven it some more and explored its potential further but for now, I am happy as can be. I bought my 991.2 when it was 2 years old for its initial RRP with a couple of thousand miles on and I have managed to do roughly the same again with this one which feels about right for me.
Thanks, good to hear you are getting on with it. I am in two minds about the 991.2 v the 992 after I went to see the newer car in the metal; I wanted to see it to narrow my focus but its only served to make it a viable option.... this then led me on a search for a suitable 992 GT3 since before Xmas and slowly watching the prices decrease to semi normal levels again. So far all good, a really enjoyable car to drive. It's comfort spec, manual, folding buckets, steels, pretty close to what I would have specc'd had I had the money and a dealer relationship in 2010.
Congratulations on buying a great car. Regarding your comment, and as strange as it sounds now, I don't think that you needed a relationship with the dealer back in 2010 to buy a GT3.So far all good, a really enjoyable car to drive. Yes chris, opc, car parked up with brake pad lining issues, took around 3weeks to sort, and wheel centre lock blancs with gt3 on,buckled and dented which they said was with in porsche approved standards ffs,£200 for a set of four which they did not want to replace.Took 3 rewrites of the contract to get the detail correct, now put the car back on the market for 20k moreIt was not unusual for me to put 8psi back into a tyre after a good track day ... and on occasion 10psi ...

Traveled 260 mile round trip to view a nice touring in the pics, wanted for nothing!,bar a new front screen with at least 100 stone chips, headlamps pebbled dashed, ppf on both rear arches needed replacing, all front had been replaced because of excessive stone chips, side of roof and crome trim chipped, plus some free mud in the interior. Car had done just 4000 miles behind a gritter probably.

Hopefully sorted now for next week, hard to find a good manual cs in the right colour.

Joking apart, flat black is a nightmare, I had my 991.2 Touring fully PPF'd including the headlights when I bought it, just replaced 1/2 of it again at 25k admittedley enthusiatic miles the high impact areas I've had done in ultra defence which is over 50% thicker than standard.

Probably not. I didn't have the money to buy anything back then so was projecting rather than speaking with any knowledge on the subject.Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
