Just an observation really…there is plenty of choice for 997 RS, and 4.0 RS but I can’t see a single 997.1 GT3 for sale. Are they all hiding somewhere ?

Welcome to autumn, I guess!

Sellers probably surmising that the market for these will not weaken in 2022, so taking them off the market until spring.

Meanwhile some people are still using them. I did 400 miles in mine in 24 hours last weekend, going to/from/around a race track.

I noticed this while sorting my insurance renewal a week or 2 ago. I usually look at what's for sale to help guide me on what "market value" to give insurers, but there are/were none for sale despite as OP said, lots of RS's and 7.2's on the market. It's interesting though. I think current 997.1 owners like me are possibly too busy using the things as opposed to RS owners that might be more 'invested' in their purchases. Plus the global production numbers were fairly small too e.g. 2378 997.1 GT3s compared to 6300 991.1 GT3s and 9500 991.2 GT3s according to this site https://www.porscheknowledge.com/gt3-production-bu...

Overpriced. £110k for a red 2007 997.1 GT3 with 8.5k miles. That's 997.2 GT3 money.

The value is in the low mileage, so you'd lose the value driving it.

You'd have to really want a red 997.1 to pay that price.

This seems to be the only 997.2 GT3 for sale at the moment.

I reckon it’s a result of the recent Evo magazine

It’s noted as a private sale although the photos are outside an OPC

Good time to sell with low availability and high demand.

The 997.2 GT3 RS 3.8 is the only car I'd upgrade to from my 997.1 GT3.

However, it is such a huge leap in price - roughly £100k delta - that it'd need to be a perfect car and then, perhaps, I'd be a little less relaxed about enjoying it. Certainly, it'd have to be from a very good, trusted dealer.

The white & weissgold car that JZM advertised last week sold instantly. By the time I'd called (about this time of morning) they'd already had 8 other enquiries.

So, in fact, the only way for me to get into one of those is to sell my car first and be ready to move. Which then brings the risk of not finding a car and missing out on track days.

I know there are other 997.1 GT3 owners in a similar situation, they would only sell to upgrade to a Gen 1 or 2 RS. Nothing later really ticks the boxes for them.

Same/similar boat - it's literally the only exchange that would appeal - although I'm unlikely to ever buy a 7.2 for similar reasons stated, that I'd just never use it as it would be too precious. If I sold my GT3 and then bought an RS, I'd probably end up buying a regular GT3 again just to use for TDs, which would kind of defeat the purpose of the upgrade...

So what I'm trying to say to you Digga is, there's no point selling your car first as you'll only regret it - just treat yourself to an additional garage space hogging RS instead smile

Same here. I bought my .1 GT3 7 years ago when my ideal car was an RS, but simply couldn’t find one.
Clubsport and in RS Orange means that a .2 would have to be equally special colour and options wise to justify the delta.

This 997.1 GT3 RS looks stunning, but it's a black wrapped in Jet Green.
